IAA 2024: SuperPanther Unveils Global “Enabler” Strategy with New Models
The 2024 IAA Commercial Vehicles and Components Exhibition has officially kicked off in Hanover, Germany, where SuperPanther made a striking impression with three new models and several innovative technologies. During the press conference on September 16, SuperPanther launched its “Enabler” strategy and introduced new electric heavy-duty truck models designed for the European market in partnership with its first strategic collaborator, Steyr Automotive.
The “Enabler” strategy outlines SuperPanther’s open business model aimed at fostering global collaboration. It emphasizes partnerships with global OEMs and ecosystem partners to deliver cutting-edge electric heavy-duty truck solutions, driving genuine electrification within the industry.

SuperPanther has achieved significant breakthroughs in key areas of electric heavy-duty truck technology, showcasing four core systems at this year’s IAA: Intelligent Energy Management System, Distributed On-Demand Drive Electric Axle System, 876V High-Voltage Platform, and Integrated Thermal Management System with ultra-low-temperature heat pump. All these innovations received the “World Innovation” title from IAA, highlighting SuperPanther’s strong R&D capabilities.

SuperPanther's Founder and CEO, Chao Liu, stated, “Our vision is to drive the global transformation of the trucking industry toward new energy solutions. The ‘Enabler’ strategy is our steadfast commitment to the global market, and we believe it is the most effective path to achieving net-zero transportation.”
Dr. Michael Ruf, President of SuperPanther’s European market, added, “As an innovation-driven new energy technology company, we are determined to accelerate net-zero transportation. Strong technological capabilities and a complete ecosystem are essential for us to truly become an ‘Enabler’ in this new era.”

SuperPanther’s Black Diamond electric heavy-duty truck, based on its core technology platform, has already entered mass production in China. With impressive operational efficiency and powerful performance, Black Diamond exceeds customer expectations. Through the “Enabler” strategy, SuperPanther is rapidly transforming its core advantages into global competitiveness while building an efficient green energy network to propel the era of net-zero transportation.

Under the “Enabler” strategy, SuperPanther and Steyr Automotive, a European company with over a century of history, have announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop competitive electric heavy-duty trucks, reinforcing their shared commitment to net-zero transportation.

The first result of this partnership, the electric tractor eTopas 600, debuted at the IAA. Equipped with LFP batteries offering a service life of 1.8 million kilometers, it features SuperPanther’s self-developed dual-motor system with a rated power of 394kW and a maximum power of 692kW. The eTopas 600 also utilizes an 876V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, allowing a full recharge in just 38 minutes, and is equipped with SuperPanther’s ultra-low-temperature heat pump, which operates efficiently at temperatures as low as -30°C. It is expected to enter mass production by the end of 2025.

In addition, SuperPanther and Steyr Automotive have jointly developed the eEmerald series of rigid trucks, which will include three models with various powertrains, ranges, and cabin configurations to meet diverse customer needs. This series will also feature SuperPanther’s core self-developed systems, showcasing impressive performance and durability, and is also expected to enter mass production by the end of 2025.
Partnering with DHL for a Net-Zero Future in Logistics
During the press conference, SuperPanther signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global logistics leader DHL Group, committing both parties to drive sustainable development in the logistics sector. This partnership will focus on developing green logistics solutions and ecosystem infrastructure.

Through this collaboration, SuperPanther will leverage its groundbreaking electric truck technology to assist DHL and its partners in developing more efficient and cost-effective electric fleet operations, enhancing DHL’s market presence in sustainable logistics. DHL’s extensive experience in the logistics industry will complement SuperPanther’s efforts to explore and innovate low-carbon and net-zero transportation models, including joint initiatives in vehicle procurement, operational optimization, energy replenishment infrastructure, and supply chain management, all aimed at better serving global customers and advancing leadership in sustainable development.
SuperPanther’s impressive debut at the IAA not only showcased its pioneering technological capabilities but also underscored its strategic partnerships with established European OEMs and key customers. This marks a significant milestone in its global strategy. SuperPanther looks forward to partnering with more global leaders as they collectively advance toward a clean and efficient net-zero transportation era.
