SuperPanther Partners with Steyr Automotive to Launch Electric Heavy-Duty Trucks
In response to the global shift toward net-zero emissions, SuperPanther has announced a strategic partnership with Steyr Automotive, a respected European automaker with over a century of experience. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in SuperPanther's "Enabler" strategy, aimed at leading the commercial vehicle sector into a new era of electrification through innovative technology and industry collaboration.
As a pioneer in new energy technology, SuperPanther is dedicated to advancing its "Enabler" strategy by partnering with global leaders to enhance the innovation and adoption of electric heavy-duty trucks. This partnership with Steyr Automotive represents SuperPanther's inaugural venture into vehicle manufacturing in Europe and is a key milestone in its global strategy.
The collaboration leverages the companies' shared expertise in electric heavy-duty trucks and their profound market insights. SuperPanther brings cutting-edge core technologies, while Steyr Automotive contributes its extensive experience in lean manufacturing and quality. Together, they will harness their complementary strengths to explore both European and global markets.
The first product of this partnership, the eTopas 600, is an electric tractor specifically designed for the European market. It features high-efficiency LFP batteries with a 500km range, SuperPanther’s proprietary electric axle, an 876V high-voltage platform, and an integrated thermal management system with intelligent energy management. These innovations ensure high performance, energy efficiency, durability, and digital scalability. Additionally, the launch of the eEmerald series was announced, offering a range of powertrain options and cabin configurations to meet diverse market needs. Both truck variants are expected to enter series production in Europe by the end of 2025.

Dr. Michael Ruf, President of SuperPanther's European Market, stated, “This partnership is significant for the global electric heavy-duty truck industry. Our cooperation accelerates resource integration to deliver efficient, environmentally friendly electric truck solutions in response to the growing demand for net-zero transportation.”
Mr. Manfred Eibeck, Deputy Chairman of Steyr Automotive's Supervisory Board, remarked, “With over a century in truck production, Steyr Automotive is committed to embracing new technologies. In this collaboration with SuperPanther, we are not just integrators of technology but co-creators of a shared vision. Together, we will drive the advancement of electric heavy-duty truck technology, contributing to the global goal of achieving net-zero emissions.”
