GWM has officially launched the new GWM POER 2.4T pickup in Australia, further expanding its global presence. This new model not only strengthens the GWM POER lineup in the region but also meets the growing demand for high-performance, multi-purpose pickups among Australian consumers.

A Strong Competitor in the Australian Market
Australia has a rich pickup truck culture and a highly competitive market. Since entering Australia, GWM POER has gained widespread recognition for its outstanding quality and performance, making it the most popular Chinese pickup brand in the country. With the introduction of the new 2.4T model, GWM POER is set to bring even more excitement to the Australian market.
China’s Pickup Leader with a Growing Global Presence
As a pioneer in China’s pickup industry, GWM POER has led the market for 27 consecutive years and has achieved nearly 2.7 million global sales. In China, GWM pickups hold nearly 50% of the market share, firmly securing the brand’s leadership position. To date, GWM POER has gained the trust of nearly 700,000 users worldwide, thanks to its superior performance and quality.
Powerful Performance for Extreme Conditions
The new GWM POER 2.4T features a 2.4T diesel engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, delivering a maximum power of 135kW and an impressive peak torque of 480N·m—making it a strong contender in its class. The vehicle has undergone rigorous testing in extreme environments, including high altitudes, scorching heat, and freezing temperatures. Whether driving through deserts, snowy terrain, or rough mountain roads, the GWM POER 2.4T provides a reliable and powerful performance, ensuring an outstanding off-road experience.
Since its launch, the GWM POER 2.4T has conquered several extreme challenges, such as high-altitude tests on the Pamir Plateau and crossing the world’s highest-altitude highway, G219. Its outstanding capability has earned high praise from off-road enthusiasts. During a recent test drive event in Melbourne, the vehicle impressed the media with its powerful performance, smart features, and adaptability to all terrains.

Expanding Globally with a Strong Market Strategy
While continuing to perform well in China, GWM POER is accelerating its global expansion. As one of the first Chinese pickup brands to enter international markets, GWM POER is now available in over 50 countries and has gained widespread recognition worldwide. In Australia, alongside the 2.4T model, GWM has also introduced the POER Shanhai 2.4T and the POER Shanhai HEV to meet diverse customer needs.
Additionally, GWM POER actively engages in international events and proudly sponsors the World Surf League and Australian Ironman competitions, blending Chinese pickup culture with local lifestyles. These initiatives not only enhance GWM’s brand influence globally but also promote Chinese pickup culture on the world stage.
