200 LANDKING Trucks Set Sail for Chile
On June 8, WEICHAI New Energy Commercial Vehicles (WEICHAI NECV) shipped 200 light-duty and mini trucks to Chile as part of the company’s ongoing effort to expand its footprint in South America. The vehicles, part of the company’s LANDKING series, departed from Qingdao, China, and will be delivered to a key customer in Chile for use in city logistics and last-mile delivery operations.
The shipment is the latest step in WEICHAI NECV’s efforts to grow its market presence in the region. Chile, which is promoting low-emission transport and sustainable logistics, is seen as a key market for new energy vehicles. Since entering Chile, WEICHAI NECV has introduced four product lines—R, H, ER, and EH—offering both traditional internal combustion engines and electric powertrains.
The LANDKING electric trucks, which feature zero emissions and low noise levels, are already in use across a variety of urban delivery sectors, including supermarket distribution and courier services. The fuel-powered variants are designed for long-distance and mountainous routes, offering strong performance and payload capacity in demanding conditions. Both of them have received positive feedback from local operators.
The latest shipment includes trucks equipped with WEICHAI’s proprietary powertrain technology and a range of smart features such as voice control, screen casting and blind spot monitoring. The vehicles have also been modified to meet Chile’s diverse road conditions and humid climate, with upgrades for off-road performance, durability and payload capacity.
WEICHAI NECV, a high-end truck brand under WEICHAI Group, draws on the group’s global supply chain and intelligent manufacturing capabilities to advance both new energy and high-efficiency fuel technologies. Backed by four research and development centers in Tokyo, Shanghai, Yantai and at the WEICHAI Power Research Institute, WEICHAI NECV has established a global innovation network covering powertrain systems, battery technology and vehicle integration. It is based on this network that the company supports ongoing product upgrades and regional adaptation. In 2025, WEICHAI NECV launched its flagship LANDKING X7 trucks—available in both fuel and electric versions—featuring updates in active safety systems, electric drivetrain integration and cabin comfort.
The company said it will continue investing in key global markets—including South America, North America, Southeast Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States—as part of its long-term strategy to expand its presence in the global commercial vehicle sector.
