Dongfeng Launches CAPTAIN.45 in Australia
Dongfeng Motor Import & Export Co., Ltd. has launched its new CAPTAIN.45 light-duty truck in Australia, marking the company's entry into the right-hand-drive commercial vehicle markets of Australia and New Zealand.
Developed specifically for local operators, the CAPTAIN.45 is aimed at urban and regional logistics applications and is powered by the Dongfeng Cummins D2.5 diesel engine.

According to Dongfeng, the company spent three years studying customer requirements and operating conditions in Australia before bringing the vehicle to market. During that period, Dongfeng worked with local partners and Cummins Australia on vehicle development, service planning, channel expansion and localized operations.

The CAPTAIN.45 is a 4.5-ton light-duty truck built on a 3,300 mm wheelbase. The vehicle has been engineered to meet local regulations and adapted to the road conditions and transportation requirements of both Australia and New Zealand.

Power is provided by the Dongfeng Cummins D2.5 engine, which has been optimized for fuel efficiency, durability and operating performance. The powertrain calibration has been tailored to improve fuel economy while maintaining the reliability required for commercial transport applications. A reinforced engine structure is designed to support demanding operating conditions across a wide range of routes and environments.

To support customers in the region, Dongfeng has established a localized service network in partnership with Dongfeng Cummins and local distributors. The support system includes nationwide service coverage, financing solutions, fleet customization programs and logistics support services.

The launch represents Dongfeng's latest step in expanding its international commercial vehicle business and strengthens its presence in right-hand-drive markets. The company said it will continue working with Dongfeng Cummins and regional partners to develop market-specific products, expand localized operations and provide customers with reliable transportation solutions supported by Cummins' global service and technology network.
