XCMG Opens First Overseas New Energy Manufacturing Plant in Indonesia

XCMG has officially started operations at its new energy manufacturing plant in Indonesia, marking the company’s first overseas facility dedicated to new energy equipment production.

The opening ceremony was held at the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP). During the event, the first batch of new energy equipment rolled off the production line and was delivered to Tsingshan Holding Group’s Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park, XCMG’s strategic partner in Indonesia.

The ceremony was attended by nearly 100 guests, including Song Zhike, Vice President of XCMG Machinery, representatives from IWIP, customers, and industry partners.

XCMG Expands Overseas New Energy Manufacturing

The launch of the Indonesian facility marks an important milestone in XCMG’s global expansion and green development efforts.

As the construction equipment industry moves toward electrification and smarter technologies, XCMG is accelerating its development in five key areas: high-end products, intelligent technologies, green manufacturing, global operations, and service capabilities. Global expansion and sustainable development remain key priorities for the company.

Located in Indonesia, the new energy manufacturing plant combines equipment production, application-oriented research and development, and localized service capabilities. The facility is designed to shorten delivery times and provide equipment solutions tailored to local needs, including mining, infrastructure construction, and industrial park logistics.

The plant will enable localized production of electric construction equipment, supporting the wider adoption of new energy solutions in Indonesia’s key industries.

In addition, the facility will support equipment recycling and component remanufacturing programs, helping improve resource efficiency and extend equipment lifecycle value.

Currently, local employees account for nearly 80% of XCMG Indonesia’s workforce. The company continues to expand local employment opportunities and develop skilled talent in the region.

In 2026, XCMG Machinery was once again recognized in the Fortune China ESG Impact List, becoming the only construction machinery company selected for the list.

Building a Localized Industrial Ecosystem in Indonesia

The delivery of the first batch of new energy equipment represents a key milestone in the cooperation between XCMG and Tsingshan’s Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park.

By combining XCMG’s expertise in new energy construction equipment with IWIP’s industrial resources and application scenarios, the partnership has created a new model based on “technology and application” as well as “manufacturing and market” collaboration.

From project agreement signing to plant construction and production launch, the facility was completed within a short period of time, demonstrating the potential of industrial cooperation between Chinese companies and overseas partners.

XCMG has been present in Indonesia for more than 30 years and has established a comprehensive localized operation system covering sales, service, and spare parts support.

The company has built an extensive sales and service network across Indonesia, supported by more than 100 professional service vehicles and a three-level spare parts supply system. These capabilities provide reliable support for more than 30,000 XCMG machines currently operating in the country.

With the new energy manufacturing plant now operational, XCMG Indonesia has further strengthened its integrated local industrial chain covering research and development, manufacturing, supply, sales, and after-sales services.

The locally produced new energy equipment is expected to support Indonesia’s transition toward greener infrastructure development.

Looking ahead, XCMG will use the Indonesian new energy manufacturing plant as a showcase for overseas intelligent manufacturing. By continuing to strengthen technology innovation and local partnerships, the company aims to deliver more complete equipment solutions to customers worldwide.
