Yuchai and Dangote Group Expand Strategic Cooperation in Nigeria
Yuchai Group and Dangote Group are expanding their cooperation in engines, power generation equipment and plans for local production in Nigeria.
On October 16, local time, Li Hanyang, Party Secretary and Chairman of Yuchai Group and Chairman of Yuchai Co., Ltd., met with Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, in Lagos, Nigeria. The two sides discussed ways to expand their existing partnership and agreed to deepen their cooperation.
Dangote Group has used more than 7,000 Yuchai engines in trucks, buses and off-road construction equipment. According to the companies, these engines can help customers reduce overall fuel costs by more than 50%. They are also designed to operate in demanding conditions, including high temperatures, heavy loads and long working hours.

Building on their existing cooperation, the two companies agreed to add power generation equipment to their partnership. Their cooperation will now cover four areas: truck engines, bus engines, engines for off-road construction equipment and power generation equipment. This will extend their business beyond vehicle and construction equipment engines into the power generation sector.
The two companies also agreed to advance plans for local engine production in Nigeria. Beyond product supply, their future cooperation is expected to include local assembly, capacity development, technical support and after-sales service. The aim is to build a stronger local presence and support long-term business growth in Nigeria.
The expanded partnership will strengthen cooperation between Yuchai and Dangote Group in Nigeria and support their business in transportation, construction and energy across the region.
