Greatwall M1 to launch in August priced at 60,000rmb
In the first five months of the year, Great Wall sold nearly 80,000 cars which was an increase of 83.2% over the same period previously. Sales for Great Wall were down slightly in June by 5%, but sales are expected to be increase for July, although in 2008 Great Wall achieved its sales of 100,000 vehicles, but fell short of its end sales goals.
For 2009, Great Wall Motors (GWM) plans to launch 13 different new cars, which they plan to split over three distinct product plans of sedans (inc small cars), MPV/SUV (inc Hover series) and the pick up range.
GWM's SUV sales manager, Mr. Chao Tie Qiang announced the Hover M1 will be produced before the end of the year, he also expressed that the M1 would be paired to a 1.3l engine, and with a 5 speed manual gearbox, and will be priced from 60,000rmb.
Mr. Chao also revealed that the Hover H5 will launch in September this year, although pricing on that particular model has not yet been revealed.
