12,011 Great Wall Wingle pickups sold from Jan. to August, up 53%
www.chinatrucks.com: 33,609 pickup trucks were sold in August in China, up 6.9%. And 12,011 Great Wall pickups were purchased, up 53.3%, topping China pickup industry. And Wingle was followed by Nissan, ZX, JMC pickups, and their sales volumes were 4,779 units, 4,382 units, and 3,887 units, up -1.5%, up 13.1% and -11.7%.
July and August were the traditional slack season for sales of pickups, and most pickup makers encountered decreasing sales volumes, except Great Wall Wingle and ZX trucks. And Wingle pickups take 35.7% market shares in China pickup markets.
Many manufacturers took sales promotions strategies for customers. For example, Great Wall Wingle will provide presents for test driving and up to 6,000 Yuan for purchasing pickups. Nissan and JMC also carry out some sales promotions.
