High-level Heavy Truck to Grow Fast in Future
www.chinatrucks.com: With the fierce competition in Chinese logistics market, logistic companies need to transform to intensified operation in face of rising costs of vehicle operation. How to improve transportation efficiency and lower down costs, the truck, the main tool for logistic industry, has to transform from low-end economic ones to high-level products which can not only comply with requirements on energy saving and environmental protection but also decreases costs.
Chinese truck technology improves with sales rise
In November, the sales volume of heavy trucks is 63,000 units, up by 29% over November last year (49,000 units), rising by 4% over last month. Looking back the whole 2013, the sales volume of heavy trucks accumulates to be 690,800 units, up by 18% year on year, and over 50,000 units more than the sales volume in whole 2012 (636,000 units). The yearly sales volume in 2013 is expected to be 750,000-760,000 units.

High-level C&C truck
Data shows that from 2009-2010, 90% of heavy truck market is around 300,000 yuan per unit, and most of which are around 200,000 yuan. Since 2010, the demand for high-level heavy truck starts to grow with a rate of 1% every year. It is estimated that the market share of high-level heavy truck will surpass 10% in the whole heavy truck market.
Deputy Secretary of CPAC Yang Zaishun says that the sales volume of heavy truck drops by 28% in 2012 but the high-level heavy truck market remains to grow fast with the sales volume hitting 10,000 units in 2012. Despite of a low market share, many international commercial vehicle manufacturers put more energy on the high-level market due to the high demands.
Seen from the current situation, many logistics companies choose high-level heavy truck due to the transportation costs. No matter imported high-level trucks or products from joint ventures or Chinese companies, the market share is rising year by year. The future high-level truck market will grow faster and faster.
Over recent years, with the technical progress, there are more and more Chinese high-level heavy trucks. Sinotruk, Dongfeng, Foton, FAW, Shacman, Beiben, CAMC and JAC take full advantages of industrial resources to expand overseas sales and enhance their global competitiveness. Their sales regions cover more than 100 countries and regions, including Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, East Europe and Central and South America.
