LANDKING EH Series Successfully Passed -30°C Extreme Cold Test
Electric vehicles have long faced serious challenges in freezing temperatures and icy roads, especially when it comes to range, power, and stability. Issues like reduced range in low temperatures, difficulty starting, and low charging efficiency have been long-standing concerns in the industry. However, thanks to cutting-edge technology, WEICHAI NECV has successfully conquered the cold and overcome these challenges.

In December 2024, R&D team from LANDKING Research Institute, along with WEICHAI Group’s "Three High" test team, conducted a 30-day extreme cold weather challenge in Heihe with the latest LANDKING EH series electric light trucks. Throughout the test, the LANDKING EH series underwent rigorous testing in temperatures as low as -30°C, demonstrating exceptional adaptability to cold weather.

Cold Start Test: After being parked in -30°C for 12 hours, the vehicle was able to start in just 8 seconds, showcasing excellent start-up capabilities.

Efficient Defrosting and Cabin Heating: The vehicle was fully defrosted in just 25 minutes, and the cabin warmed up from -20°C to 20°C in just 20 minutes, providing a comfortable driving experience for the driver.
Excellent Braking Performance: On icy roads, the LANDKING EH series delivered outstanding braking distance, force distribution, and stability—ensuring a safe drive even under challenging conditions.

Stable Range in Cold Weather: In -30°C conditions, the LANDKING EH series kept up to 85% of its range, meeting the needs for long-distance operation.
Fast Charging Capability: The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 40-45 minutes. With over 90% charging & discharging efficiency, the LANDKING EH series breaks the low-temperature charging limits for new energy commercial vehicles.

Long-Duration Extreme Cold Test: The LANDKING EH series completed a continuous 72-hour cold test with zero system failures. This highlights the exceptional reliability and adaptability of the vehicle’s core systems, proving its ability to operate efficiently in the most challenging environments.
During the test, the advanced battery liquid cooling, intelligent temperature control, and vehicle thermal management systems played a key role in keeping things running smoothly in freezing temperatures. The battery liquid cooling technology kept the battery temperature stable, allowing the blade battery to perform excellently in charging and discharging even in freezing conditions. The intelligent temperature control and thermal management systems minimized the impact of low temperatures on battery energy, ensuring the vehicle started up easily and was ready to work quickly.

The LANDKING EH series has successfully passed every test, showcasing remarkable cold resistance. Beyond the rigorous extreme cold testing, all LANDKING vehicles will undergo stringent verification by WEICHAI Group’s renowned "Three High" test team before they are launched. This ensures that each vehicle performs reliably, whether in freezing cold, intense heat, or high-altitude conditions. Thanks to this rigorous testing, LANDKING’s electric commercial vehicles are tailored for global markets with different climates and terrains. For instance, Cold-resistant configurations for the CIS market; Full power & long-range for the Americas with advanced tech; High-temperature endurance for the Middle East & North Africa; Flexible wheelbases with both left- and right-hand drive for Southeast Asia.

With its global adaptability and localized R&D system, LANDKING keeps pushing the limits of technology, delivering more reliable and efficient solutions for new energy logistics and transportation worldwide.
