Earth Day: WEICHAI Landking Calls for Action Toward a Sustainable Future
Every year on April 22, Earth Day serves as a reminder that green energy is more than just an idea—it’s a call to action. As a key player in China’s new energy commercial vehicle sector, WEICHAI Landking is actively contributing to global sustainable development by offering innovative Chinese solutions. Guided by China's "dual carbon" strategy, WEICHAI is focused on developing not only more fuel-efficient traditional light trucks but also industry-leading new energy vehicles. At the same time, the company is working to build a green transportation ecosystem to support the transformation of low-carbon logistics by promoting new energy light trucks.
Commercial vehicles play a crucial role in urban logistics and sustainable freight. WEICHAI Landking is leading the way in this green revolution, especially in the field of low-carbon logistics. With a vision to become the "leading brand in new energy light trucks," Landking has set the standard for low-carbon solutions. Leveraging WEICHAI Group's strong technological and manufacturing capabilities, Landking has built a comprehensive low-carbon system, powered by both innovative green products and sustainable manufacturing facility.
In terms of products, Landking has developed an industry-leading pure electric power system. Its core technologies include WEICHAI’s self-developed ultra-power battery, all-in-one controller, motor, and integrated electric drive axle from HanDe. All key components are fully controlled in-house. The ultra-power battery has an energy density of 200Wh/kg and can charge from 20% to 80% in just 38 minutes. The power density of the electric control system is at the forefront of the industry, and the overall vehicle energy recovery efficiency has increased by over 10%. With this efficient "golden powertrain," Landking’s electric light trucks reduce emissions and enhance environmental performance, contributing to a greener, cleaner urban landscape.
Landking’s electric light trucks serve as practical low-carbon logistics solutions and are widely used in urban delivery, cold chain transportation, and express logistics. With a range of models, including flatbed trucks, box trucks, and both single-cab and double-cab vehicles, Landking is effectively addressing the diverse needs of sustainable transportation.
On the manufacturing side, WEICHAI New Energy’s green smart factory is now fully operational. By integrating advanced technologies such as cloud computing, big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, the factory has built a smart manufacturing system that features "digital twin, dark-line production, IoT connectivity, intelligent decision-making, green manufacturing, and closed-loop data management. Compared to traditional manufacturing methods, the factory has reduced overall energy consumption by about 14%, increased per capita output by five times, and improved production efficiency by 70%. The achievement represents a clear step forward in the company’s commitment to greener, smarter industrial practices.
Landking’s green footprint have reached markets across Southeast Asia, South America, North America, and the CIS region. With reliable performance and strong technical support, Landking has earned multiple large-scale orders, showcasing its global competitiveness and market adaptability.
Looking ahead, WEICHAI Landking will continue to focus on green development. By leveraging WEICHAI Group’s global resources, it will continue to drive innovation in both technology and business models, with the goal of shaping a smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable transport ecosystem.
On this Earth Day, Landking calls on more partners across the industry to join in and accelerate the shift to green logistics. More than just a commercial vehicle, Landking represents a firm commitment to advancing low-carbon logistics and building a cleaner, more sustainable future for all.
