JMC Expands Chile Lineup With Launch of Three New Vehicle Models
Chinese automaker Jiangling Motors Corp. (JMC) has launched three new vehicle models in Chile as part of its efforts to expand its presence in the South American market. The launch, held recently in Santiago, introduced the Yuhu passenger pickup, the Yuhu electric pickup and the Fushun light commercial van.
The event, organized in partnership with local distributor Astara, drew representatives from 37 media outlets and 11 distributors, reflecting growing interest in the brand’s offerings.
During the launch, Astara’s brand manager outlined the vehicles’ design concepts, key features and performance benefits. JMC’s Latin America regional manager also presented the company’s development history and global product strategy, aiming to strengthen confidence among local stakeholders.
JMC’s Yuhu pickup has performed strongly since its entry into the Chilean market, with over 3,000 units sold to date. Despite a year-on-year decline in overall pickup sales in Chile from January to May 2025, Yuhu sales grew by 31% during the same period. The brand is now among the top three Chinese pickup exporters to Chile.
The introduction of the new passenger and electric variants is expected to broaden JMC’s product portfolio in the market and offer more choices to Chilean consumers.
The company said it remains committed to serving the Chilean market by expanding its localized product range and enhancing its brand presence in the region.
