JMC to Launch JMH EV Light-duty Electric Truck in the Philippines
Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) is set to introduce its JMH EV light-duty electric commercial vehicle in the Philippine market, as the model has secured certification from the Land Transportation Office (LTO), clearing the way for commercial sales.
Designed for urban logistics, the JMH EV is a fully enclosed electric van tailored for short- and medium-haul delivery operations, targeting the growing demand for efficient city distribution solutions.
The vehicle is powered by a 63.8 kWh battery pack, delivering approximately 120 hp and 240 Nm of peak torque. It has a top speed of around 90 km/h and a driving range of up to 300 km on a single charge. Charging options include both DC fast charging, which takes about 45 minutes, and AC charging, which requires around 9 hours.
In terms of dimensions, the JMH EV measures 5,595 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 3,100 mm. With a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 to 3.8 tonnes and a payload capacity of approximately 1.5 tonnes, the model is positioned to meet the practical needs of urban logistics operators. It adopts lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology, offering a balance between safety and cost efficiency.
Beyond LTO certification, the vehicle has also received recognition from the Department of Energy (DOE), confirming its inclusion in the Philippines’ regulatory framework for new energy vehicles.
Market observers point to rising interest in electric commercial vehicles in the Philippines, driven by volatile fuel prices and increasing pressure to reduce emissions. Against this backdrop, the JMH EV is expected to provide a cost-effective alternative for logistics companies while supporting the transition toward fleet electrification.
With key pre-launch requirements now completed, the JMH EV is expected to be officially rolled out in the Philippines in the near term, followed by phased deployment. The launch also underscores the growing presence of Chinese automakers in the country’s emerging electric commercial vehicle segment.
