Victory Auto Rolls Out First Truck from Its Ethiopia Plant
Victory Auto has officially rolled out its first vehicle from the KD (knock-down) assembly plant in Ethiopia, marking a significant milestone in its global production efforts and strengthening the partnership between China and Ethiopia in the automotive sector.
Since launching its global strategy in 2014, Victory Auto has expanded its sales network to more than 50 countries and regions. The company has also established KD plants in Brazil, Argentina, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Ethiopia. The Ethiopia facility plays a key role in Victory Auto's strategy to enter the African market. By assembling vehicles locally, the company not only reduces export costs and speeds up delivery but also creates thousands of jobs while supporting the growth of Ethiopia’s manufacturing sector and supply chains.
To ensure top-quality products, Victory Auto has deployed expert teams to Ethiopia, overseeing factory setup, production processes, staff training, and quality control. The first model off the line has been specially designed for the Ethiopian market, tailored to local road conditions and customer preferences. With strong performance, fuel efficiency, safety, and comfort, this “Made for Ethiopia” vehicle is expected to gain strong traction with local consumers.
Looking ahead, Victory Auto plans to use its Ethiopia plant as a hub for further expansion in Africa. The company will invest in local R&D, production, and marketing, enhance its product lineup, and strengthen its brand presence. Through these efforts, Victory Auto aims to grow its footprint in Africa and showcase the growing influence of Chinese auto brands on the global stage.
