WEICHAI NECV Empowers Global Logistics with Pioneer-level Smart Manufacturing
Nanjing, China – [Dec 3, 2025] /Chinatrucks.org/ –On November 27, at the 2025 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference in Nanjing, China, WEICHAI Group’s "High-End Engine Smart Factory based on Digital Lean Mode" was honored as one of the first 15 enterprises to be included in China’s "Pioneer-level Smart Factories" cultivation program. This prestigious recognition highlights WEICHAI’s leadership in smart manufacturing and reinforces its support for the development of WEICHAI New Energy Commercial Vehicle (hereafter referred to as WEICHAI NECV). As a key player in the Group’s new energy sector, WEICHAI NECV is accelerating its progress in smart manufacturing by leveraging the Group’s strategic shift from "Excellence to Leadership."
WEICHAI’s leadership is driven by its long-term execution of the "Digital Lean" strategy, which integrates R&D, manufacturing, operations, and sales into a fully digitalized process. Nearly 80% of operations now utilize AI, resulting in a 10% increase in production efficiency and a 20% reduction in R&D cycles. Additionally, more than 80% of tests are now conducted through virtual simulations. At the 2025 World Intelligent Manufacturing Expo, WEICHAI demonstrated its AI applications across five key areas—AI-driven R&D, manufacturing, sales and service, product solutions, and power systems—showcasing the deep integration of AI across the Group’s operations and enabling the dual development of "Smart + New Energy."

These achievements reflect the Group’s overall strength and provide a solid foundation for the growth of WEICHAI NECV. From manufacturing core technologies such as batteries, motors, and controllers, to vehicle development, testing, and quality control, the "Leading Smart Factory" enhances efficiency, reliability, and intelligence at every stage.

Supported by the Group’s advanced digital systems, WEICHAI NECV has seen significant upgrades in R&D, manufacturing, and service. Smart manufacturing has ensured more stable powertrains and improved vehicle performance, while the virtual simulation platform accelerates the development of new models, allowing for faster market entry—particularly in international markets. The intelligent service system ensures prompt responses and comprehensive monitoring throughout the entire process for overseas customers. As a result, WEICHAI NECV's sales have consistently grown in key markets such as Southeast Asia, South America, and the Middle East, establishing the company as a leading player in China’s "Go Global" strategy for new energy commercial vehicles.
WEICHAI Group’s shift from traditional manufacturing to AI-driven smart manufacturing highlights its commitment as a leading state-owned enterprise. Building on the group’s achievements, WEICHAI NECV will continue to capitalize on the Group’s robust systems and innovative momentum to showcase China’s new energy commercial vehicles to the global market, delivering greener, more efficient, and reliable solutions for smart logistics worldwide.
