JAC Unveils SUNRAY PRO Electric Van at IAA Transportation 2026

JAC Motors has made the global debut of its new SUNRAY PRO electric van at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Germany.
At the show, JAC is presenting several new-energy light commercial vehicles and technologies for different transport applications. The SUNRAY PRO is designed for global commercial vehicle markets and is built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform.

The new van uses a skateboard chassis and combines the electrical, braking, steering, thermal management and vehicle control systems into one integrated platform. It is designed as an electric vehicle from the start, rather than being converted from a conventional fuel-powered vehicle.

The platform can support different power and energy options, including battery electric, range-extended, four-wheel-drive and battery-swapping versions. This allows the vehicle platform to be adapted to different markets and operating needs.

One Platform, Multiple Applications

The SUNRAY PRO is based on a common platform and is available with two body lengths and three roof heights. The platform can also support different body configurations.

The van is designed for passenger transport, cargo transport and special-purpose applications.

For cargo operations, the SUNRAY PRO offers up to 8.3 cubic meters of cargo space and a maximum payload of 1,312 kg. It can also tow a trailer weighing up to 2 tons.

The cargo floor is 495 mm above the ground, while the rear doors can open up to 270 degrees. These features are designed to make loading and unloading easier.

83.66 kWh Battery and 348 km WLTP Range

The SUNRAY PRO is equipped with a third-generation CATL 83.66 kWh battery.

The vehicle also uses an energy-efficient thermal management system, continuously variable regenerative braking and an Eco driving mode.

Under the WLTP Combined test cycle, the van has a range of up to 348 km.

The battery uses a liquid-cooled thermal management system to keep it within its preferred operating temperature range. Charging from 30% to 80% takes 24.5 minutes.

JAC says the temperature management system can also help reduce battery degradation and extend battery life, supporting long-term vehicle operation.

More Than a Transport Vehicle

The SUNRAY PRO also supports V2L and ePTO functions, allowing the vehicle to provide or use electric power for different applications.

With its dedicated electric platform, flexible body configurations and electric powertrain, the SUNRAY PRO is designed to meet a wide range of commercial transport needs.

The global debut of the SUNRAY PRO marks another step in JAC Motors' development of new-energy commercial vehicles for international markets.

JAC Motors said it will continue to develop electric, intelligent and energy-related technologies based on the real operating needs of customers around the world, while working with industry partners to support the development of lower-carbon commercial transport.
