SANY 408P Electric Mixer Passes the Certificate under the New EU GSR
Recently, the Sany 408P electric mixer truck equipped with the Ocean Star advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) for intelligent driving, passed rigorous real-world testing and certification under the latest GSR regulations of the European Union (EU). This achievement marks it as the first domestically manufactured electric construction vehicle to receive the updated WVTA certificate.
In 2019, the EU implemented the General Safety Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2019/2144), known as the new GSR, which imposes additional safety technology standards to improve the safety of vehicle occupants and vulnerable road users like pedestrians and cyclists. The regulation is designed to decrease traffic accidents and fatalities by ensuring vehicles meet enhanced safety criteria. Starting from July 2024, all commercial vehicles registered in the EU must be equipped with corresponding ADAS functionalities.

The Sany 408P electric mixer truck has effectively incorporated five advanced ADAS features mandated by the new GSR: Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA), Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning (DDAW), Lane Departure Warning (MOIS), Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), and Reversing Information System (REIS).
ISA alerts drivers and instructs them to decrease speed if they exceed speed limits. Before testing, Sany's ISA system underwent more than 6000 km of road tests across ten European countries, covering urban, rural, and highway scenarios with a single-scene recognition accuracy of at least 90% and an overall accuracy rate of 96%.

DDAW uses facial features, eye signals, and head movements to monitor driver fatigue and issue alerts or take corrective actions when fatigue is detected.
MOIS monitors and notifies drivers of pedestrians and cyclists in close proximity to the front blind spot area of the vehicle; BSIS warns drivers of collision risks in the right-side blind spot during truck/bus turns. REIS aids in vehicle reversing by providing real-time rear-view images to prevent unnecessary collisions.

The certification tests were conducted under the supervision of the international certification body TÜV Rheinland, affirming the Sany 408P electric mixer truck's high safety and reliability, in compliance with EU regulatory standards. The Ocean Star intelligent driving ADAS system exhibited robust adaptability and scalability, enabling swift integration into various other vehicle models.
In the future, Sany will speed up its efforts in globalization, digitalization, and carbon reduction, advancing new productive capabilities while expanding into international markets. This commitment aims to bring more secure, reliable, and intelligent products onto the global market.
