FOTON Delivers 107 AUMAN AMT Trucks in Tanzania
BAIC FOTON has expanded its footprint in East Africa with the delivery of 107 AUMAN AMT trucks to customers in Tanzania. Of these, 100 units will be deployed for hazardous materials transport, while seven will serve the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
The new fleet responds to growing local demand for reliable and efficient logistics solutions and highlights BAIC FOTON’s commitment to regional growth and localization in Africa.
Powered by Cummins engines and ZF automatic transmissions, the 430-horsepower AUMAN AMT trucks have been specially reinforced to handle Tanzania’s demanding road conditions. Their durability and adaptability ensure stable performance across varied terrains, helping operators improve logistics efficiency and reliability.
Tanzania has become a strategic market for BAIC FOTON in East Africa. The company is broadening its presence with a full product lineup spanning heavy-duty trucks, light trucks, and pickups. Its combination of direct sales to key accounts and a strong local dealer network provides customers with a wide vehicle range backed by tailored after-sales support.
The introduction of the AMT trucks complements FOTON’s existing offerings, creating synergies across segments and supporting customers in both urban distribution and long-haul transport. This strengthens the brand’s leadership in Tanzania’s commercial vehicle market.
In the first half of 2025, BAIC FOTON’s Tanzanian operations reached 56.8% of their annual sales target, with business scale surging 2,238% year-on-year. These results reflect the company’s sustained investment and its ability to adapt products and services to local needs.
With demand rising in Tanzania and across Africa, BAIC FOTON plans to continue advancing localization, enhancing product quality, and expanding service capabilities. Guided by its motto, “To Do, To Try, To Win,” the company is focused on achieving its performance targets and further extending its presence in the African market.
