107 FOTON AUMAN AMT Trucks Delivered to Tanzania
BAIC FOTON has achieved a major milestone in East Africa with the delivery of 107 AUMAN AMT trucks to customers in Tanzania. Of the total, 100 trucks will be used for hazardous materials transport, while the remaining 7 are destined for the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
The new fleet addresses local demand for reliable, durable, and comfortable transport solutions while underscoring BAIC FOTON’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Africa and advancing its localization strategy to support regional growth.
The AUMAN 430-horsepower AMT trucks are powered by a proven Cummins engine paired with a ZF automatic transmission. Specially reinforced for Tanzania’s challenging road conditions, they deliver enhanced durability and all-terrain adaptability. The trucks provide stable and efficient operations even under harsh environments, helping customers achieve dependable logistics performance.
Tanzania is a key strategic market for BAIC FOTON in East Africa. The company is scaling up its operations with a comprehensive product lineup that includes heavy-duty trucks, light trucks, and pickups. By combining a direct sales model for major clients with a strong local dealer network, BAIC FOTON is providing a wide range of vehicles along with tailored after-sales service.
The addition of these AMT trucks complements FOTON’s existing offerings in the market, creating synergies across different segments. Together, the portfolio supports customers in optimizing logistics networks for both urban distribution and long-haul transportation, while reinforcing BAIC FOTON’s leadership as a Chinese commercial vehicle brand in Tanzania.
The Tanzanian market delivered impressive results in the first half of 2025, achieving 56.8% of its annual sales target and recording a 2,238% year-on-year increase in business scale. These figures reflect BAIC FOTON’s long-term commitment, continuous investment, and ability to align with local customer needs through stronger products, services, and technology.
With demand continuing to rise in Tanzania and across Africa, BAIC FOTON will keep advancing its localization efforts and improving product and service quality. Guided by its motto, “To Do, To Try, To Win”, the company is focused on meeting its performance goals for the remainder of the year and further expanding its footprint across the African market.
