Foton Records Strong Growth in 2025 with Over 650,000 Vehicle Sales
China’s commercial vehicle market in 2025 was under strong pressure and constant change.
On one side, the traditional fuel vehicle market faced intense price competition. Demand was stable, competition focused on existing market share, and many companies had to cut margins to survive.
On the other side, new energy vehicles developed rapidly. Technology routes, competition rules, and value systems were being reshaped. The entire industry was going through a deep transition.
In this environment, many market stories focused on traffic, hype, and short-term excitement.
Foton Motor chose a different path.
In 2025, Foton did not rely on heavy price cuts or a single “star product” to drive attention. Instead, it focused on long-term capabilities. As a result, the company achieved stable and solid growth.

According to public data, Foton sold more than 650,000 vehicles in 2025, ranking first in the industry.
New energy vehicle sales reached 101,000 units, up 87.2% year on year.
Overseas sales reached 165,000 units, up 7.2%.
Heavy-duty truck sales reached 142,000 units, up 103.6%.
While the overall market showed stable volume and structural divergence, Foton not only defended its core business but also achieved clear breakthroughs in new energy and overseas markets.
In China, the commercial vehicle market is highly rational.
Every investment made by customers must finally improve one key indicator: transport efficiency.
This leads to a clear question:
In a market that does not depend on hype and focuses on long-term returns, how does Foton define first-class products, brands, and enterprises?
First-Class Products: Real Value from Technology and Service

In commercial vehicles, product value is measured by fuel costs, tolls, maintenance expenses, and vehicle uptime.
Traffic and internet popularity have little impact on long-term purchase decisions.
Foton’s practice in 2025 showed that continuous technology innovation and full life-cycle service are the most effective ways to prove product value.
In the early stage of electrification, many manufacturers chose “fuel-to-electric conversions” to reduce costs and speed up product launches. However, this approach could not fundamentally solve issues such as range, energy efficiency, and space layout.
In July 2025, Foton launched the “Qimingxing” dedicated pure electric light truck platform.
With a total R&D investment of RMB 1.7 billion, it is the world’s first platform designed from the ground up specifically for pure electric light trucks.

It fully redesigned ergonomics, electronic architecture, chassis, and drivetrain systems.
Also in July 2025, Foton Auman Galaxy new energy heavy trucks (9/5M/3/T series) were officially launched. These models are based on a dedicated new energy platform and follow the Galaxy intelligent architecture.
In December 2025, Foton released the KAVEN BEACON.
Built on the world’s first forward-developed “electric-hydrogen compatible” intelligent heavy truck platform, it features newly developed body, electronic, and chassis architectures.
These investments were not made to show complex specifications, but to improve real user experience.
Foton’s focus has shifted from “having new energy vehicles” to “helping users earn more with new energy vehicles.”
For example, vehicles on the Qimingxing platform use an industry-first MTCU + SiC + oil-cooled flat-wire motor control system. Overall efficiency is improved by 3%, with rated power reaching 140 kW—about 40% higher than the industry average.
In urban delivery, this means more cargo per trip or one less charging stop.
The Auman Galaxy hybrid heavy truck focuses on operating cost reduction.
Based on the Super Hybrid 3.0 platform, it achieves a 16% to 26% reduction in total vehicle energy consumption. For heavy truck users, this means saving tens of thousands of yuan in fuel costs each year.
Foton also believes that great products must solve system-level problems.
For the KAVEN BEACON, Foton launched the “Lighthouse Partner Program,” inviting 100 heavy truck users to conduct six months of real-world operation testing. Real users and real conditions directly feed back into product optimization.
To reduce the high upfront cost of new energy heavy trucks, Foton set up a joint venture with EVE Energy to provide battery leasing solutions. Users pay only for transport services, while battery depreciation and maintenance risks are handled by the company.
Foton also emphasizes matching products to real scenarios. In Tangshan, responding to green transformation policies in the steel industry, Foton quickly launched the Auman Xingyi 600 kWh pure electric tractor, designed specifically for short-distance steel transport.
First-Class Brand: Built on Trust and Real Stories
Over the past 30 years, Foton has built a strong brand foundation. However, being “number one in scale” does not automatically mean leadership in value.
In 2025, Foton changed its brand communication approach. Instead of focusing on technical parameters, it highlighted real operating scenarios and long-term user experience.

The “Galaxy Global Value Tour” covered over 12,000 kilometers across multiple extreme road conditions. Vehicles were tested in real-world environments, not exhibition halls.
In places such as Datong, Yantian Port in Shenzhen, and steel plants in Tangshan, Foton electric tractors achieved long-term, high-intensity operation with zero failures. These stories were shared directly by drivers and fleet owners, creating strong word-of-mouth trust.
At the same time, Foton continued to serve major national missions. In 2025, the TUNLAND completed its eighth astronaut transport mission, and Foton AUV buses supported the National Two Sessions for the 21st consecutive year.
These experiences elevated “reliability” from a business concept to public trust.
Foton also strengthened partnerships by integrating used vehicles, leasing, and charging services into its dealer system, helping dealers transform into full-service providers.
First-Class Enterprise: Strategic Vision Ahead of the Curve
During industry transformation, strategic choices matter more than short-term results.
In 2025, Foton clearly defined three core strategies:
full internationalization, full new energy transformation, and full intelligence development.
Globally, Foton has built 32 localized plants and promotes local R&D, manufacturing, and service through its “GREEN3030” strategy.
In new energy, Foton follows multiple technology routes, including pure electric, hybrid, and hydrogen, to meet diverse market needs.
In intelligence, Foton applies AI and automation not only to vehicles, but also to R&D, manufacturing, and operations.

These three strategies reinforce each other and form a continuous growth cycle.
This is the key reason why Foton achieved steady growth in a rational and competitive market in 2025.
