BAIC Foton Unveils Tunland V9 Hybrid Pickup at Turin Motor Show
BAIC Foton has showcased its new Tunland V9 hybrid pickup at the Turin Motor Show in Italy. This model marks a major step for the company in entering the European high-end pickup market. With its modern design, advanced hybrid technology, and strong performance, the Tunland V9 has drawn attention from both industry professionals and the media, strengthening BAIC Foton’s global brand recognition.
The Tunland V9 measures 5,617 mm long, 2,090 mm wide, and 1,910 mm high, setting new standards for pickup size and design. It is powered by BAIC Foton’s latest 48V turbocharged diesel hybrid system, paired with a 2.0L AUCAN engine and 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, delivering a peak torque of 450 Nm. The vehicle’s front double-wishbone and rear multi-link chassis balance off-road capability with high load capacity, offering a smooth and capable driving experience. Energy recovery and high-pressure combustion technologies reduce fuel consumption by about 10% and achieve up to 50% thermal efficiency, showing BAIC Foton’s commitment to eco-friendly technology.

The Tunland V9 also brings advanced smart features. Adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist provide semi-autonomous driving at Level 2.5, enhancing safety and convenience. Inside, a 14.6-inch touchscreen supports voice commands and customizable ambient lighting, creating an immersive cabin experience with comfort comparable to luxury vehicles. NVH performance is improved by 15%, and six airbags combined with optimized active and passive safety systems ensure full protection for drivers and passengers.

Since entering the European market in 2021, BAIC Foton has obtained EU WVTA certification for its TUNLAND series and successfully launched in Italy. The company now operates more than 70 sales and service points across the country and has introduced a “Flying Doctor” service, reaching customers in as fast as three hours. This local support guarantees timely service and builds strong trust among Italian users.

Looking ahead, BAIC Foton plans to continue expanding its product lineup and service capabilities, aiming to provide customers worldwide with more efficient, eco-friendly, and intelligent transport solutions.
