FOTON Powers Latin America’s Green Transition with Electric Sanitation Fleet
FOTON Motor has delivered a fleet of pure electric sanitation trucks to several cities across Latin America through its local partners. The new vehicles will be used for urban waste collection and transport, helping municipalities cut emissions and improve operational efficiency. The delivery marks a key milestone in expanding FOTON’s new energy footprint in the region’s public service sector.

Built for City Operations
Developed in collaboration with industry partners, the electric trucks are tailored specifically for urban sanitation work. Their cab-over-engine design offers excellent maneuverability in dense city streets and narrow alleys.
A standout feature is the integrated in-cabin control system, allowing operators to manage the hopper directly from the driver’s seat without exiting the vehicle. This innovation boosts productivity, enhances comfort, and improves operational safety. The truck body, made from high-strength integrated steel, ensures durability under heavy daily use, while its smooth interior surface prevents waste buildup — making cleaning faster, easier, and more hygienic.
Driving Sustainable Urban Services
With this rollout, local authorities are establishing one of the largest all-electric public service fleets in their countries — a significant step toward sustainable city management. At the handover ceremony, government representatives said that adopting FOTON’s new energy vehicles is not only a modernization of municipal equipment but also an important move toward achieving long-term environmental goals.
Compared with traditional diesel trucks, FOTON’s electric models can deliver substantial fuel savings and cut carbon emissions significantly. Their simplified mechanical structure also reduces maintenance needs and overall operating costs, offering stronger lifetime value for fleet operators.
Supporting Clean Energy Infrastructure
To enable efficient operations, local governments have built supporting charging facilities powered by clean energy. This reflects the region’s growing commitment to transport electrification and demonstrates the reliability and adaptability of FOTON’s new energy technology in real-world applications.
Committed to Global Green Growth
FOTON’s Latin America team and local distributors joined the delivery ceremony and will continue to provide technical support and after-sales services. The successful delivery once again highlights FOTON’s leadership in the global new energy commercial vehicle sector and its contribution to building greener, smarter urban ecosystems.
Looking ahead, FOTON will continue working with international partners to bring more efficient, intelligent, and low-carbon vehicle solutions to global markets—creating long-term value for cities, industries, and communities worldwide.
