WEICHAI Launches NG4.0 Pro Gas Engines
On April 10, WEICHAI officially launched its NG4.0 Pro gas engine series in Zhengzhou, with simultaneous events held in Changchun, Xi’an, Yinchuan, Chengdu, and Jinan. At the launch, the company introduced four new engine models in the 13L, 14L, 15L, and 16L segments, designed for a wide range of transport applications. The new lineup sets a higher benchmark for the industry, offering improved power, lower gas consumption, and greater overall efficiency.

Pro Upgrade: Full-Scenario Coverage
The newly launched WP13NG-4.0 Pro, WP14NG-4.0 Pro, WP15NG-4.0 Pro, and WP16NG-4.0 Pro cover a displacement range of 13.3L to 15.7L, with power output from 520 to 750Ps. The product range is developed for multiple operating scenarios, including mixed-use transport, long-haul logistics, mountainous regions, and high-altitude conditions, forming a more complete and flexible portfolio.

Supported by advanced core technologies, the new engines deliver further improvements in gas efficiency, while also enhancing power output, reliability, and driving comfort.
Three Core Upgrades: Higher Operational Value
Since entering the gas engine sector in the 1990s, WEICHAI has built nearly 30 years of experience and maintained a leading position in the industry. The NG4.0 Pro series delivers upgrades across three key areas:
Stronger power: Optimized air intake and improved combustion efficiency increase engine response by around 20%. Vehicles deliver faster starts, smoother acceleration, and stable power output even in complex operating conditions.
Lower gas consumption: Through intelligent control systems and multiple energy-saving technologies, gas consumption is reduced by about 5% compared with the previous generation. Improved combustion efficiency enables better energy utilization and lower operating costs.

Higher efficiency: An intelligent control system enables rapid adjustment to different fuel qualities and working conditions, ensuring precise matching and stable performance across various transport applications.
Full Lifecycle Service Support
At the launch event, WEICHAI also introduced 10 dedicated service policies for the NG4.0 Pro series, covering warranty, maintenance, and roadside assistance. The services are designed to reduce operational risks and improve customer confidence.
Backed by a global service network, including 83 central warehouses and a leading commercial vehicle service call center, WEICHAI ensures fast response and end-to-end support. The company also introduced a new NG total cost of ownership (TCO) package and additional exclusive benefits for key customers.

Real-World Validation of Performance
A nationwide NG4.0 Pro fuel (gas) consumption challenge was also launched at the event. In the next phase, customer vehicle trials and NG driving experience programs will be conducted to validate product performance under real operating conditions.
With the launch of the NG4.0 Pro series, China’s gas engine technology has entered a new generation. Against the backdrop of energy transition and industrial upgrading, WEICHAI will continue to deliver more efficient, powerful, and intelligent power solutions, supporting the logistics industry’s shift toward greener and lower-carbon development.
