Foton Hosts Overseas Brand Day in Beijing, Marks 30th Anniversary
Foton Motor on Tuesday hosted its inaugural Overseas Brand Day in Beijing, bringing together media and dealer representatives from Europe, the Americas and Southeast Asia, as the company marked its 30th anniversary and outlined its global growth strategy.
Participants toured key facilities, including the Foton Cummins engine plant, the X Lab and the OH Bus global R&D center, gaining first-hand insight into the company’s manufacturing capabilities and new energy technologies. At the engine plant, engineers showcased an intelligent production system featuring a “future workstation” integrated with 13 AI modules, highlighting Foton’s push toward advanced manufacturing. Visiting media described the company’s level of automation and digitalization as exceeding expectations.

Foton also organized on-road test drive sessions, presenting a full portfolio of vehicles spanning heavy-duty trucks, light-duty trucks and new energy models. Key products on display included GALAXUS, DAYSTAR and eVIEW CONNECT. The test routes combined urban roads with simulated operating conditions, allowing participants to evaluate power delivery, handling stability and the performance of electrified systems.

The event incorporated live streaming coverage, with attending media sharing real-time driving impressions and interacting with online audiences. Range capability, charging efficiency and the performance of driver assistance systems emerged as key discussion points during the broadcasts.

In the evening, Foton hosted a 30th anniversary gala at the foot of the Badaling Great Wall, using the historic site to underscore its brand narrative by linking three decades of corporate development with Chinese manufacturing and cultural identity.

Wu Zongtian, President of Foton’s Overseas Business, said the event demonstrated both the company’s technological progress and its “Grit to Great” philosophy. He noted that over the past three decades, Foton has supported logistics development and economic growth while expanding the global presence of Chinese commercial vehicle brands. Looking ahead, the company will continue to prioritize new energy, intelligent technologies and international expansion.

Dong Shuxing, Vice President of Overseas Strategy and Marketing, highlighted the company’s evolution from producing its first light truck to operating in more than 140 countries and regions. He emphasized that long-term success in overseas markets depends on localized solutions and sustained service capabilities, in addition to competitive products.

As part of its long-term strategy, Foton reaffirmed its commitment to full internationalization and introduced its “GREEN 3030” target, aiming to reach 300,000 overseas unit sales by 2030, with new energy vehicles accounting for 30% of the total. Over the next five years, the company plans to establish manufacturing bases in Indonesia, South Africa, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Europe, shifting from a product export model toward broader technology, standards and industrial ecosystem output.

During the event, Foton unveiled an updated product lineup, including GALAXUS for long-haul logistics, DAYSTAR for intercity transport and the all-electric eVIEW CONNECT van for urban distribution, reinforcing its portfolio across key commercial vehicle segments.
Foton also announced the launch of its “Galaxy Global Experience Tour,” a brand activation program symbolized by a ceremonial flag representing heritage and global expansion. The flag was handed to the Latin America team during the event.

The tour will begin in Beijing, with its first stop in Mexico, before continuing to Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. It will feature a series of localized activities, including landmark lighting campaigns, and will conclude at IAA Transportation in Germany.

As it enters its fourth decade, Foton said it aims to further strengthen its global presence, not only by expanding sales and market share, but also by positioning itself as a reliable partner in the global commercial vehicle industry and a contributor to the transition toward greener and smarter mobility.
