WEICHAI LANDKING Delivers First Batch of Hydrogen Dump Trucks in Guangzhou
On August 18, 2026, WEICHAI LANDKING and Yuntao Hydrogen delivered the first batch of a 300-unit order of hydrogen-powered dump trucks in Guangzhou, as demand grows for cleaner and more efficient transport solutions for urban construction. The trucks will be used to transport construction waste, providing a cleaner and more efficient solution for urban construction.
The delivery further strengthens cooperation between WEICHAI LANDKING and Yuntao Hydrogen in the new energy commercial vehicle sector. WEICHAI LANDKING is providing the vehicles and powertrain technology for the project. “We have strong confidence in the quality of WEICHAI LANDKING products and value its expertise in new energy commercial vehicles,” a Yuntao Hydrogen representative said. “We look forward to deeper and long-term cooperation between the two sides.”

The hydrogen-powered dump trucks are designed for demanding construction waste transport, combining high gradeability, long range and low maintenance requirements. They feature a HANDE 28.93 high-ratio two-speed rear axle with more than 24% gradeability, while a powertrain combining a WEICHAI battery, Yida electric motor and INVT integrated electric control system improve overall electric powertrain efficiency by more than 10%. With two 260-liter hydrogen cylinders and an 82.13 kWh WEICHAI power battery, the trucks offer a fully loaded range of more than 500 km. Maintenance-free HANDE wheel ends and a 600,000-km oil-change interval are also designed to reduce downtime and keep the trucks in operation longer.

The trucks are built to handle the rough roads, tight spaces and low-clearance areas commonly found on construction sites. Their high-strength 215 steel frame, 10-ton maintenance-free rear axle and reinforced leaf springs provide a robust chassis for heavy-duty work. Safety features include large-capacity brake units, ABS, ESC, AEBS automatic emergency braking and driver assistance systems with dual warning functions. With a height of just 2,180 mm, the trucks can enter low-clearance underground garages and maneuver through narrow construction sites. An air-controlled lifting system supports lifting, stopping and lowering, covering the main operations involved in earthwork and construction waste transport.

The delivery marks a further step toward the large-scale application of WEICHAI LANDKING hydrogen-powered dump trucks in urban construction. By combining hydrogen technology with the demands of construction waste transport, WEICHAI LANDKING and Yuntao Hydrogen aim to provide a cleaner and more efficient solution for the industry.
