BAIC FOTON and WEICHAI Power Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement
BAIC FOTON Motor Co., Ltd. (BAIC FOTON) and WEICHAI Power Co., Ltd. (WEICHAI Power) signed a strategic cooperation agreement on September 21, aiming to strengthen collaboration in commercial vehicle manufacturing, new energy technologies and intelligent connected systems.
The signing ceremony was held at the BAIC R&D Center as part of a broader strategic cooperation agreement between BAIC Group and Shandong Heavy Industry Group.
Under the agreement, BAIC FOTON and WEICHAI Power will focus on three key areas: core component supply, joint development of new energy products, and the integration of intelligent and connected technologies.
The two companies plan to strengthen resource sharing, joint technology development and market coordination. By improving links between vehicle manufacturing and powertrain supply, they aim to enhance product competitiveness, reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
As a major subsidiary of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, WEICHAI Power provides powertrain solutions covering engines, transmissions, integrated vehicle powertrains and new energy power systems. The company serves customers worldwide and has an established presence in China's commercial vehicle powertrain market.
The agreement builds on the companies' existing business relationship and reflects their efforts to respond to the commercial vehicle industry's shift toward electrification, intelligent technologies and higher-value products.
Going forward, BAIC FOTON and WEICHAI Power will seek to deepen cooperation across the industrial value chain, combining their respective strengths to develop more competitive commercial vehicle products and support the industry's transition toward smarter and greener solutions.
