FOTON Showcases Full Commercial Vehicle Lineup at IAA 2026
FOTON is expanding its presence in Europe with a broader product lineup, new-energy technologies and a stronger focus on local operations.
At IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 in Hannover, BAIC FOTON is showcasing seven complete vehicles and six key components, covering heavy-duty trucks, medium-duty trucks, light trucks, pickups, buses and special-purpose vehicles.
The lineup includes the GALAXUS R9 PHEV, CAVAN BEACON, eGALAXUS D3, DAYSTAR, CAVAN C1, TUNLAND V9 PHEV and eAURORA. The vehicles cover battery-electric, hybrid and hydrogen fuel-cell technologies for different commercial vehicle applications.

The exhibition also marks an important milestone for FOTON. During the show, the company delivered its 13 millionth vehicle, a FOTON GALAXUS 9, to the European market. The truck has completed real-world testing in Spain and is now entering the European long-haul logistics market.
FOTON Sets New Targets for Europe
At a press conference during IAA, Liu Xuguang, Executive Vice President of BAIC FOTON, officially announced the company's European strategy.
FOTON has set two targets for 2030: new-energy vehicles to account for 50% of total sales and international sales to account for 40%.

Europe is a key market in FOTON's global strategy. The company plans to build its European business around the principle of “In Europe, For Europe,” with a focus on local products, services, technology and partnerships.
FOTON currently has sales networks in nearly 20 European markets and plans to cover major European markets by 2028.
The company also has a regional parts center in Germany and national parts warehouses in 17 countries, including the UK, France and Hungary. Its European service network now includes more than 300 outlets.
FOTON plans to work with European partners to further expand its sales, service and spare-parts networks.
The company also plans to establish a local technology center in Europe to better understand local market needs and support product development. By 2028, FOTON plans to begin local vehicle assembly in Europe.
CAVAN BEACON Makes Global Debut
One of the key highlights at the FOTON stand is the CAVAN BEACON, a new zero-carbon intelligent heavy-duty truck designed for long-haul transport.

The BEACON is built on a dedicated platform that supports both battery-electric and hydrogen applications. Its architecture covers the body, electrical and electronic systems, and chassis.
By combining different cabs, electric axles, batteries and fuel-cell systems, the platform can support 15 vehicle variants. It covers battery-electric, battery-swapping, gaseous hydrogen and liquid hydrogen technologies.
For electric models, the truck supports 1.44 MW of maximum charging power. Charging from 20% to 80% takes 18 minutes, while the fully electric version offers a range of more than 600 km.
The truck also features an intelligent driver-assistance system with 22 functions, including adaptive cruise control, lane centering, automatic lane changing and assisted overtaking.
According to FOTON's test data, the system achieved a response success rate of more than 99% in abnormal driving scenarios. The vehicle also has the technical capability for further development toward Level 4 automated driving.
Energy efficiency is another focus. The BEACON has a drag coefficient of 0.28, together with adaptive control strategies and an integrated predictive thermal management system. These technologies help reduce overall vehicle energy consumption by 15%.
The 6×4 battery-electric version has energy consumption as low as 115 kWh per 100 km, while the 4×2 version reaches 105 kWh per 100 km. The 6×4 hydrogen fuel-cell version consumes as little as 7.6 kg of hydrogen per 100 km and has a range of more than 1,000 km.

FOTON has also upgraded the cab for long-distance drivers. The truck features a four-point floating cab suspension and air-suspension seats, which the company says can reduce vehicle vibration by 25% and improve comfort by 20%.
The cab includes a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, with truck navigation, smartphone connectivity and multi-screen functions. It also offers a low-floor design, a wide sleeper berth and 420 liters of storage space.
Building a Local New-Energy Ecosystem
Beyond vehicle sales, FOTON is also working to build a local new-energy ecosystem in Europe.
The company plans to provide support covering energy replenishment, vehicle operations and after-sales services. It will work with local partners on charging infrastructure, connected vehicle services and other parts of the new-energy commercial vehicle ecosystem.
FOTON is also using its German subsidiary BROCK to develop connected-vehicle services in Europe and strengthen its local operations.
At IAA, the company is also displaying key self-developed components, including heavy-duty power batteries, electronic control systems, electric drive axles, vehicle control units and megawatt-level charging equipment.

By displaying complete vehicles alongside core components, FOTON is highlighting its capabilities in vehicle integration and core technology development.
As it expands in Europe, FOTON is combining product development, new-energy technology and local operations to build a broader commercial vehicle business in the region. The company plans to continue working with European partners as it expands its products, services and manufacturing capabilities.
