JMC Pickup Wins Class Championship at 2026 Caminos del Inca Rally in Peru
JMC won first place in the pickup truck class at the 54th Caminos del Inca Rally, which ended on October 18, 2026, in Arequipa, southern Peru. The rally marked its 60th anniversary this year.
After making its debut in 2025 and completing the race, JMC returned for the 2026 event, often called the “Dakar Rally of South America.” After more than 10 days and thousands of kilometers of racing, the JMC pickup completed the demanding route across highlands, deserts, canyons and mountains to secure first place in its class. This is JMC's best result in the event to date.
A Tough Test of Vehicle Performance
The rally put vehicles through demanding driving conditions over long distances. Competitors had to deal with changing terrain and road conditions throughout the race.

The JMC pickup completed the challenge and won its class, demonstrating its reliability, durability and overall performance under demanding conditions.
Teamwork Behind the Victory
The Caminos del Inca Rally tests more than vehicle speed. Drivers must maintain focus and make quick decisions while covering hundreds of kilometers each day across changing elevations and road conditions.

JMC's overseas team worked closely with its local distributor in Peru to support the vehicle throughout the event. Their work included pre-race preparation, technical adjustments, and inspections and maintenance after each stage. This support helped keep the vehicle running reliably and allowed the driver to continue racing.
Rally Success Raises Brand Awareness
The class victory marked a milestone for JMC in the rally and helped the brand reach more consumers, media outlets and automotive enthusiasts in Peru.
Along the route, local spectators cheered as the JMC pickup passed by. At stage finishes, fans gathered around the vehicle and driver.
Coverage of the race, along with photos and videos of the pickup and driver, also attracted attention in local automotive media and on social media. The result helped more Peruvian consumers learn about JMC and its pickup trucks.

Peru Sales Grow 66.2% in First Nine Months of 2026
From January to September 2026, sales of JMC pickups in Peru increased 66.2% year on year. JMC ranked fifth among all pickup brands in the market and second among Chinese pickup brands.
The growth reflects JMC's continued investment in products, services, sales channels and marketing. The company offers vehicles suited to local driving conditions and customer needs, while working with its distributor to strengthen its local presence and improve its sales and service network.
Product experience activities, motorsport events and social media campaigns have also helped raise brand awareness and build customer trust.
From the rally stage to the wider market, JMC is using its vehicle performance and continued local investment to reach more customers in Peru.
