BYD Commercial Vehicles and Milkyway Partner to Deploy Electric Trucks in Chemical Logistics
BYD Commercial Vehicles and Milkyway signed a strategic partnership agreement and delivered the first batch of battery-electric tractor trucks on October 26. The signing and delivery ceremony was held at BYD's Hexagon Building in Pingshan, Shenzhen, China. The partnership aims to expand the use of electric heavy-duty trucks in chemical logistics and other specialized transport operations.
As the chemical logistics industry moves toward greener transport, logistics companies need vehicles that are safe, reliable, and efficient. Milkyway is a leading chemical supply chain service provider in China, with more than 20 years of industry experience in specialized logistics, safety management, and digital operations. The company is seeking more efficient and environmentally friendly transport solutions to meet its business needs.
BYD has 18 years of experience in new energy commercial vehicles. Using its self-developed battery, motor, and electronic control technologies, the company offers a range of products, including light-duty trucks, heavy-duty trucks, buses, and special-purpose vehicles.

Under the partnership, BYD will contribute its technology development and vehicle manufacturing capabilities, while Milkyway will bring its experience in specialized logistics operations. The two companies will work together to expand the use of electric heavy-duty trucks in chemical logistics.
The BYD Q3 electric tractor truck delivered in this batch is equipped with a 600 kWh Blade Battery and a high-efficiency electric drive system. Its motor has a peak power of up to 600 kW, and the truck has a driving range of 450 km under combined operating conditions. These features are designed to support efficient transport operations and help logistics companies manage operating costs.

The truck also features a high-strength steel frame and multiple intelligent driving assistance functions to support safer transport operations.
The delivery marks a step toward putting the partnership into operation. BYD Commercial Vehicles will continue to develop new technologies and promote electric heavy-duty trucks for a wider range of specialized transport applications, supporting the transition to greener and more efficient logistics.
