Global Ford Chairman Health & Safety Award Revealed JMC Won 7 Awards
(chinatrucks.com, Feb.24, 2010)2009 Global Ford Chairman Health & Safety Award was revealed today; and JMC won the following seven awards: JMC Transit Plant- China External Safety Supplier Strategy; JMC Nanchang PUMA 4C Appearance Reversal Machine Safety Improvement Project; JMC Frame Plant N Rivet Line Automation Improvement Process; Indexable Platform Axle; JMC Tooling Plant Transit Brake Bearing End Cap Assembly Engineering Improvement; JMC Jiangling Casting Plant Core Making Model Change Improvement Process; JMC General Equip Department Factory JMC Cradle Improvement Process. The achievement of JMC is greatly attributed to the constant support from Ford and the implementation of JMC quality management. Thanks to the ever-improving lean management system, the sales increases fast, product quality improve significantly and profitability develops at a steady and fast pace.
To adjust to the competitive market, JMC introduced FPS from Ford and started carrying out JPS(JMC PRODUCTION SYSTEM)with the help from Ford, the partnership with which started in 2000.With lean production as guiding theory, communication as means, JPS meets and even does better than customer’s expectation on quality, cost and delivery; it also attaches great importance on improving staff overall ability, and encourages workers to fully exhibit their ability and initiative in production to get rid of waste, reduce cost and finally improve company’s core competitiveness. Eight JMC plants have all adopted JPS, focusing on method innovation, continuing health & safety working process, searching for more safety production methods, improving details, ensuring production safety and improving productivity. In Transit, for example, through the improved supplier safety management process, the coverage rate of safety training for external construction team and constructors reached 100%, potential safety hazard having declined by 80%, and false alarms by 100%.
With health and safety production as base, JMC continues its exploration and improvement in practice. In Oct 2009, JMC applied for 2009 Global Ford Chairman health and safety Award, and seven safety items got approved after months of appraisal and selection, which is a great achievement. Health and safety Chairman Award is the highest safety award for over 100 companies in cooperation with Ford worldwide for their outstanding achievement in health and safety. An annual award, it is the highest honor in health and safety, personally presented by Ford chairman.
