Foton to set up a new plant in Weifang with 795 million euros

(chinatrucks.com, May 19, 2010) As the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in China, Foton is the subsidiary of Beijing Auto Industry Shares Control Company, and it will invest 795 million euros to establish a new plant in Weifang, Shandong province.  

The production base set by Foton in Zhucheng city, located in Shandong province, has become the largest light truck manufacturing base in Asia. The annual production capacity is 450,000, and the mainly products are small, and medium trucks. Moreover, Weifang plant is the important part of strategy plan from 2010 to 2015 in Weifang new plant.

Foton plans to produce and sale 1500,000 in 2015, and it will set the leading position in global commercial vehicle field. The new plant is to develop new energy auto technology in sedan business.
