Foton plans to establish new plant in India
(chinatrucks.com, May 21, 2010) It is learned by reporter that Foton is considering to establish a new plant in India, and the estimated annual capacity will reach 100 thousand finally.
New plant establishment issues will begin to negotiate in 2011 if everything is going smoothly. The Indian production line may produce including light truck and heavy truck as well as SUV full series vehicles of Foton.
At present, Foton has cooperation with Mercedes-Benz, however, it is not sure whether Mercedes-Benz company will take part in the activity or not. Foton Group refuses to say anything about the Indian plant issue, and spokesman of Mercedes-Benz committed that China is the priority market of Benz, and cooperative partners in China try to search for the business opportunity in the globe.
