Foton invests 450 million Euros for light truck in Shandong
(chinatrucks.com, Sep 26, 2010) Foton has began to establish a new plant in Weifang on Sep 24th, 2010. The new plant is located in Weifang, and Foton Zhucheng Auto city, Zhucheng Ollion Auto plant and the new plant have insisted in Shandong auto base of Foton. Weifang is not only the largest export base of Foton, but also the largest auto R&D production base of Shandong, and the largest light truck R&D production base in the world.
Foton Weifang auto plant is located in Weifang high-tech industry development zone, and the taken area is around 2,000 square meters. The planned annual capacity is including 300,000 completely vehicles, 3 million pressing pieces, and the new energy vehicles have taken 30% of the completely vehicles.
It is introduced by the responsible person that the overall investment of the program is 450 million Euros, and it has been divided into two stages. The first stage is planned to contain annual capacity with 100,000 from Sep 2010 to Dec 2011. The second stage is containing annual capacity with 200,000 from Mar 2012 to Apr 2013. After the program is wholly completed, the sales revenue is predicted to reach 3,450 Euros.
