Foton Sells over 620,000 Vehicles in 2012
www.chinatrucks.com: Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer Beiqi Foton has released its final sales performance review for 2012 earlier this week. According to the report, the manufacturer sold a total of 620,338 vehicles over the course of the year. The figure is 3.1 percent lower than what the manufacturer sold in 2011.

Light trucks made up the majority of Beiqi Foton's sales in 2012, with a total of 493,485 units sold. Heavy truck, light bus and large bus sales totaled 95,517 units, 19,808 units and 4,339 units, respectively. The manufacturer produced a total of 606,430 vehicles over the course of the year, 1.8 percent lower than the amount reported in 2011.
Beiqi Foton's sales and production amounts for the month of December totaled 51,754 units and 52,554 units, respectively. The two figures represented year-on-year growth of 13.32 percent and 11.97 percent, respectively. The manufacturer sold 40,603 light trucks, 8,120 heavy trucks, 1,909 light buses and 390 large buses in December, as well as 14,271 engines.
