Foton Daimler Joint Venture Company Starts Running Smoothly
www.chinatrucks.com: Since Foton Daimler joint venture started to operate since 2012, it is always the focus in China truck industry. It is not an easy job to interview the joint venture president Wu Yuejun who holds the low-profile principle.
The great performance of the company last year proves that its smooth operation, and they sold 105,000 medium and heavy trucks in 2013, up 30% over 2012 and their market shares are 15%, 1% higher than the previous year. And they started to profit last year, while they got some losses in 2012 when the joint venture founded.
Their target of becoming the biggest heavy truck maker till 2016 has shocked many indsutrial insiders, and in fact, they have set even higher goal in 2023, and then they are hoping to become leading truck makers in values and all aspects in China. Auman has spent 12 years to develop stably and now it is a new development stage and they need even higher target.
Mr. Wu revealed that the leading market place needs the best products and they need the best development and research system. Foton Daimler Company has set independent R & D center and the new lab center for total investment of 500-600 million Yuan will start to build this year and further investment will need dozens of millions of dollars.
