Huanggang: Three Trends of China Heavy Truck Markets
www.chinatrucks.com: “China heavy truck markets will change in ten years, and the change is not fundamental. China commercial vehicle makers will still take majority of the markets, and domestic commercial vehicle markets will not be dominated by joint ventures like passenger car markets, ” said Huang Gang, general manager of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company during the Global Auto Forum held in Wuhan on Oct. 17 when he is talking about the development trends of China heavy truck markets and he also analyzed the competitiveness advantages of China heavy truck makers and what they should do to improve in the long run.
Three development trends for China heavy truck markets
After many year fast growing, China heavy truck markets are being a changing point, and what will happen in the following years?
Mr Huang predicted that China heavy truck markets will take 30% in the world in the future, bigger than Europe and America together. But China heavy truck makers need to reform to adopt the new development trends.
Firstly, he said that China heavy truck makers can not rely too much on the sales volumes, and they have to pay attention on the quality to meet the development requirements of heavy truck industry as time goes by.
As the customers needs upgrading, the customers sensitiveness on price will become weaker and they will pay more attention on reliability and operation efficiency. “Currently customers needs on high efficient logistics and prime line logistics are changing, and they focus more on the whole life costs of the truck, not the low price of the truck, ” said he.
And the third is that heavy truck makers have to change their position from truck maker to transport solution supplier, and they will not only provide products but also services. And they have to provide product advice, driver training and vehicle maintenance tips to create more value for the customers.
