Yinchuan BYD New Energy Vehicle Production Base Rolls Out Its First Vehicle
On September 18, Yinchuan BYD New Energy Vehicle Production Base rolled out its first vehicle, marking a historical moment for the development of new energy vehicle industry in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

In recent years, Yinchuan has been putting huge emphasis on green development. In April last year, the city signed an agreement with BYD on setting up a new energy bus production base in Wangyuan Industrial Park in Yongning county. Covering an area of 700 mu, the production base is built with a total investment of two billion RMB. After the completion of its construction, it can realize an annual production value of ten billion RMB by producing 50 km mono rails and 2,000 units electric buses each year.
The first phase of the new energy vehicle production base project covers an area of 381 mu, consisting of rail beam production lines, carriage production lines, testing lines, electric bus production lines. Its second phase, covering an area of 319 mu, will be dedicated to manufacturing logistic vehicles, trucks and vehicles used for special purposes.

In June this year, China’s state council released a three-year action plan to combat air pollution, clearly stating that great efforts should be made to introduce new energy vehicles in the public transport, logistic services and urban cleaning in municipalities, provincial capitals and other major cities across China.
From January to August this year, BYD sold 110,000 units new energy passenger vehicles, up by over 90% year on year. In the same period, the company sold over 5,000 units new energy buses. In addition, its new energy heavy-duty trucks have already realized commercial operation. (www.chinatrucks.com)
