Foton Partners TuSimple Pass China’s First Autonomous Driving Truck Fleet Test
On December 30, an L4 level autonomous driving truck fleet, with its autonomous driving solution provided by TuSimple, successfully passed China’s first autonomous driving truck fleet test on Jingli Expressway.
By working closely with BAIC Foton, Huawei, Beijing Capital Highway Development Group, and Navinfo, TuSimple has three trucks drive in a line on the expressway for 14 km.
In the test, the first truck was driven by a driver while the second and the third one followed with autonomous driving mode and they completed such demanding tasks as cruising, lane-changing and synchronous deceleration. Driving at 80 km/h, the three trucks maintained a distance of 10 meters.
After the test, TuSimple revealed that it would further improve its L4-level autonomous driving technologies and carry out tests at Donghai Bridge in Shanghai.
