Foton Motor and Piaggio Group Jointly Introduce New Porter NP6 to the Market
On January 26, Foton Motor and Piaggio Group jointly released their new light commercial vehicle, new Porter NP6. Meeting Euro-VI-D Emission Standards, the vehicle achieves even higher fuel economy and is chiefly targeted at the last kilometer urban logistic service market in Europe.

Foton Motor provides product development technology, knock-down kit manufacturing while Piaggio Group assembled in Italian factory.
Fully in compliance with the truck manufacturing standards in Europe, the new Porter NP6 has a more compact structure and is highly versatile. It also meets Euro NCAP collision standards. Boasting a competitive loading capacity, it achieves higher reliability and creates a more comfortable working environment for truck drivers.

Powered by a combined petrol + LPG or petrol + LNG/CNG fuel system, the new Porter NP6 helps customers further cut their fuel costs and is readily adaptable for various demanding transportation needs in urban areas.

On May 15, 2018, Foton Motor and Piaggio Group officially signed an agreement for cooperation. Since then, the two parties have been working closely to develop light commercial vehicles. By the end of 2021, they aim to deliver 8,000 units Porter NP6 to their customers in Europe.

As the largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters in Europe, Piaggio Group has been expanding to the light commercial vehicle market in recent years. “By upgrading our classic Porter, the new Porter NP6 represents a new milestone in our company's history. We will continue to strengthen our competitiveness in the light commercial vehicle market in the world”, said Roberto Colaninno, president of Piaggio Group.

Boasting rich experience in developing light commercial vehicles, Foton Motor has already made impressive achievements. In 2020, it sold over 140,000 units mini-trucks, up by 34.9% year on year, demonstrating its formidable competitiveness in the market.
