FOTON Showcases Two EVs at Manila International Auto Show 2024
From April 4 until April 7, 2024, Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), the Philippines’ largest annual motoring event, grandly opened at the World Trade Center Metro Manila and SMX Convention Center Manila. FOTON not only unveiled the Tunland V7 and V9 diesel-hybrid pickup trucks, but also two EVs including Thunder EV, an all-electric version of Foton’s popular midsize pickup, and Transvan HR Cargo EV, zero-emissions powertrain variant of the van.

Thunder EV is an all-electric version of Foton’s popular midsize pickup. Its exterior and interior are somewhat similar to the TUNLAND G7. However, it does not come with the Aucan turbo diesel engine. Instead, there is an electric powertrain powered by a 88.55 kWh battery that offers a range of over 500km. It supports fast charge and can be charged from 20% to 100% in just as little as 1.5 hours.

The other all-electric FOTON is Transvan HR Cargo EV, which is a van with a zero-emission powertrain. It is driven by a single motor with a maximum power of 115 hp and a maximum torque of 290 Nm. Its battery is rated at 50.23 kW and has a range of just 195 kilometers. It can travel at a top speed of 100 km/h, has a ground clearance of 169 mm, a cargo volume of 8 cubic meters and a payload of 1,100.
