Full-Size Hybrid FOTON TUNLAND V Arrives in Colombia
On July 11th, FOTON launched its first full-size hybrid pickup truck, the TUNLAND V, in Colombia. This marks a significant milestone for FOTON in integrating new energy technology into the pickup truck sector and signals a transformative shift in the Colombian and Latin American markets.
At the launch event, FOTON showcased the TUNLAND V9, a pickup that redefines size and style standards with its spacious dimensions: 5,617mm in length, 2,090mm in width, and 1,910mm in height. It features FOTON's new 48V turbocharged diesel hybrid powertrain, a 2.0L AUCAN engine, and an 8-speed ZF transmission delivering peak torque of up to 450Nm. The TUNLAND V9 boasts a front double-wishbone + rear multilink chassis for robust off-road capability and high load capacity, promising an exceptional driving experience.
In terms of efficiency, the TUNLAND V9 achieves a 10% reduction in fuel consumption and up to 50% thermal efficiency thanks to its energy recovery system and ultra-high-pressure combustion system, highlighting FOTON's commitment to energy conservation and emission reduction.
The TUNLAND V is equipped with intelligent driving aids like ACC adaptive cruise control, AEB automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assistance, enabling L2.5 level automatic driving. It also features a 14.6-inch intelligent touchscreen, voice interaction system, ambient lighting, and enhanced NVH performance, ensuring a luxurious driving experience with comprehensive safety features including six airbags.
FOTON has been a key player in Colombia's commercial vehicle market since 2013, establishing over 20 sales outlets, service stations, and 40 parts outlets. The company's commitment to innovation and local empowerment extends beyond product development to infrastructure projects, enhancing intercity connectivity and community well-being.
Since its introduction, the TUNLAND has proven its capability across Colombia's diverse terrains, from challenging worksites to adventurous journeys. With the TUNLAND V hybrid, FOTON aims to expand its versatility in both work and leisure scenarios, offering Colombian users enhanced lifestyle choices.
