Foton Launches Full-Size Hybrid Pickup TUNLAND V in Saudi Arabia
On July 23, Foton Motor unveiled its full-size hybrid pickup, the TUNLAND V, in Saudi Arabia. This groundbreaking vehicle combines outstanding performance, energy efficiency, and advanced technology, setting new standards in the pickup market. The launch highlights Foton's commitment to innovation and strategic expansion in the global market, particularly in the Middle East.
The TUNLAND V features an impressive size with a length of 5,617 mm, a width of 2,090 mm, and a height of 1,910 mm. It is powered by a 48V hybrid system, a 2.0L AUCAN turbocharged diesel engine, and an 8AT ZF transmission, delivering a peak torque of 450 Nm. This ensures excellent performance both in urban settings and off-road adventures. The vehicle’s front double-wishbone and rear multi-link high-performance suspension enhance its off-road capability and load-bearing capacity. With energy recovery and ultra-high-pressure combustion systems, fuel consumption is reduced by 10%, and thermal efficiency reaches up to 50%.
In terms of technology, the TUNLAND V is at the forefront with features such as ACC adaptive cruise control, AEB automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assistance, achieving L2.5 level autonomous driving. For comfort and safety, it includes a 14.6-inch smart display, intelligent voice interaction, and ambient lighting. The vehicle’s NVH performance has been improved by 15%, and it is equipped with six airbags for both front and rear passengers, ensuring comprehensive safety.
Foton Motor has established a strong presence in the Saudi market, offering light and heavy trucks designed to withstand local high temperatures, humidity, and sand. The company has also set up an extensive sales and service network to meet diverse market needs.
The launch of the TUNLAND V demonstrates Foton’s deep understanding and strategic approach to the Saudi market, marking a significant step in its Middle Eastern expansion. Going forward, Foton will continue to refine its products and explore new market opportunities to deliver high-quality, high-performance vehicles to global customers.
