Xiang Wenbo Invited to Attend the Summit of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation
On the morning of September 5, 2024, the 2024 China-Africa Cooperation Forum Beijing Summit opened grandly at the Great Hall of the People. Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered the keynote speech at the opening ceremony, announcing that China will elevate its bilateral relations with all African countries to a strategic level. He also declared that the overall positioning of China-Africa relations will be upgraded to an "all-weather China-Africa community with shared future for new era," and introduced the "10 partnership actions for modernization."
Xiang Wenbo, Chairman and Party Secretary of SANY Group, and Chairman of SANY Heavy Industry, was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the summit.

Before the summit, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa visited Changsha and toured SANY Group's No. 18 Lighthouse Factory, where he learned about the company's advancements in smart manufacturing and new energy technologies. Xiang Wenbo warmly welcomed President Mnangagwa and his delegation.

As a leading brand in Chinese construction machinery, SANY has deep ties with Africa. Africa is where SANY began its global expansion. In 2002, SANY's first batch of hydraulic graders was exported to Morocco. Over the past 22 years, SANY has been involved in almost every major project in Africa, actively participating in the drive to "Build a Beautiful New Africa." In Kenya, 120 SANY machines contributed to the construction of the first overseas railway meeting full Chinese standards—the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway—without a single downtime incident during the main construction phase. In Algeria, SANY’s pumping equipment set multiple records at the continent’s tallest building, the Grand Mosque of Algiers. In Zimbabwe’s major mines, SANY equipment has a usage rate above 95%, with timely service and parts supply, earning widespread customer praise.

Currently, SANY’s key products in Africa include concrete machinery, excavators, cranes, road machinery, energy machinery, and port machinery. Concrete machinery is the top brand in the African market, and excavators, cranes, and port mobile machinery are also leading Chinese brands. To date, SANY’s sales revenue in Africa has exceeded 20 billion yuan, with over 23,000 units of equipment in use, making it the top Chinese construction machinery company exporting to Africa. SANY has 15 subsidiaries in Africa, branches in over 30 countries, a local employee rate of over 50%, and 13 high-quality agents, with equipment covering more than 50 countries and regions in Africa.
Looking ahead, SANY Group plans to further expand its presence in the African market, deepening cooperation with African partners in smart manufacturing, infrastructure construction, and new energy fields. The goal is to create greater value for clients and contribute more to Africa's industrialization and modernization.
