Dongfeng Accelerates Its Expansion in Africa
In September 2024, at the China-Africa Cooperation Forum in Beijing, Dongfeng Motor showcased its latest progress in the African market. The forum provided new opportunities and momentum for China-Africa cooperation and highlighted a promising future for their relationship.
New Era of Collaboration
Dongfeng Motor has signed a landmark agreement with Sudan’s G Group to launch a new "China + Sudan manufacturing" automotive assembly model. This partnership marks a crucial development in Dongfeng's strategy to deepen its presence in Africa and opens up new opportunities for Sino-Sudanese cooperation in the automotive sector.
Strengthening the African Market Presence
Dongfeng Motor continues to make significant strides in Africa, particularly in the commercial vehicle segment. From January to July this year, Dongfeng achieved a 23.5% market share among Chinese brands in Africa, leading the sector in terms of Chinese exports. The company has firmly established itself across North, West, and East Africa, with a presence in over 20 countries including Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia. Dongfeng is recognized as a key player in the Chinese export market.
Expanding Footprint and Services
Dongfeng’s expansion plan includes setting up a new independent outlet in Zimbabwe and introducing new cargo trucks. The company will operate with both local and Chinese agents to cater to diverse customer needs. In North Africa, Dongfeng is actively expanding its market and strategic footprint, with recent research in Egypt and Algeria and the opening of a new flagship store in Algeria.

Enhancing Brand and Service Infrastructure
Dongfeng Motor is also focusing on building its brand presence overseas. The company participated in the 64th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in April 2024 and showcased several commercial vehicles at the ADMA Agri Show in May. The showcased vehicles received widespread acclaim for their performance and technology, with local officials praising Dongfeng’s contribution to regional development. Dongfeng will offer its commercial vehicles through over 20 local outlets and service stations, with plans for customer engagement events to strengthen market presence.

Innovative Service Models
To address the unique needs of international markets, Dongfeng has implemented innovative service measures. These include providing business support, deploying specialized personnel, and offering training to ensure timely access to parts and technical support. This comprehensive service approach enhances customer trust and satisfaction, laying a strong foundation for Dongfeng's long-term success in Africa.

Dongfeng Motor is committed to further developing its global market presence, introducing high-quality, high-performance vehicles worldwide in the future.
