IAA 2024: BYD Unveils E-VALI and Electric Yard Tractor
On September 16, IAA Transportation once again opened its doors, showcasing the latest in commercial vehicle innovations. As the world's largest and most influential commercial vehicle exhibition, it attracted over 1,650 companies from 41 countries and regions this year.
At the event, BYD made its debut with the pure electric light commercial vehicle E-VALI and the pure electric yard tractor EYT 2.0, alongside showcasing other models from its electric truck family. The E-VALI is a 3.5-ton or 4.25-ton electric light commercial vehicle designed specifically for the European market, ideal for last-mile and parcel delivery services. It features BYD’s blade battery and smart driving assistance, offering excellent cargo capacity and a practical, low-maintenance choice for eco-friendly commercial fleets.

The EYT 2.0 is BYD’s first pure electric yard tractor introduced to the European market, intended for logistics environments such as ports and docks. It has a robust and flexible design with a total weight capacity of up to 75 tons, capable of handling large containers and trailers with ease. The EYT 2.0 is also equipped with BYD’s blade battery, providing up to 16 hours of operation and high charging efficiency, significantly improving transportation efficiency.
In addition to their latest electric vehicle models, BYD also showcased their renowned ETM6 and ETH8 trucks at the IAA Transportation 2024. The ETM6, a 7.5-ton medium-duty truck, is tailored for urban logistics, while the ETH8, a 19-ton heavy-duty truck, is designed for urban cleaning and logistics applications. Both trucks are built on BYD’s specialized electric truck platform, offering full-load ranges of 200 km and 250 km respectively. These models stand out for their exceptional safety features, energy efficiency, and performance.
Shu Youxing, General Manager of BYD Europe Automotive Sales Division, stated, “We are excited to showcase a range of pure electric commercial vehicles at this expo. We believe that the E-VALI and EYT 2.0 will offer more green options for last-mile and large-scale distribution, continuing to contribute to carbon reduction efforts.”
As a leader in new energy vehicles, BYD controls core technologies across the entire electric vehicle industry chain. By the end of June 2024, BYD had sold over 110,000 commercial vehicles worldwide, with more than 30,000 of those being electric trucks and special vehicles. BYD remains committed to providing tailored solutions for local markets and working with partners to drive commercial fleets towards a green and sustainable future.
