IAA 2024: BYD to Deliver Four ETH 8 to CEVA Logistics in Europe
CEVA Logistics, a Top 5 global logistics leader, and BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, are showcasing this week the role of electric trucks to decarbonize ground transport in Europe during IAA Transportation 2024. After a CEVA-branded BYD ETH8 pure-electric truck is on display during the event (Hall 21, Booth B72), CEVA will take delivery of four ETH8 trucks in January 2025.
Through pioneering innovation in sustainable transportation, which includes a diverse eTruck range, BYD brings world-leading technology and more than 29 years of power battery development expertise. As part of its efforts to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, CEVA is increasing the presence of alternative fuel and electric vehicles across its ground operations. Once delivered, the four new BYD trucks will be incorporated into CEVA’s existing Ground operations in the Netherlands.
BYD electric truck technology
The BYD ETH8 eTrucks that will be delivered to CEVA are well-suited to freight logistics services and tailored to European requirements. The 19T trucks combine the versatility of a multipurpose platform with advanced eTruck technology, as well as a practical range of 250km and convenient fast charging. BYD is the only NEV producer to have developed its own powertrain systems, power batteries, automotive semiconductors, motors and motor controller systems. The BYD ETH8 benefits from the deeply integrated BYD eTruck platform, incorporating revolutionary technology. It utilizes an innovative 5-in-1 controller for optimum performance and energy efficiency, as well as quicker and easier maintenance to minimize downtime.

BYD’s new energy vehicle footprint now covers 6 continents, including more than 90 countries. Globally, BYD has delivered over 8 million new energy vehicles and in addition to this, in excess of 85,000 pure-electric commercial vehicles, including buses and trucks worldwide.
Michael Shu, Managing Director of BYD Europe comments: “We are delighted to be collaborating with CEVA Logistics in Europe. As leading global players in our respective fields, we share the same commitment to decarbonization, and are dedicated to making transportation more sustainable introducing innovative vehicles for logistics and distribution. BYD brings a great depth of expertise in cutting-edge sustainable technology and a range of pure-electric trucks for European use.”
Sandra Villeminot, global head of sustainability for ground and rail at CEVA Logistics, said: “Decarbonizing our ground transport fleet is a key step in our overall journey toward net zero by 2050. Having suppliers like BYD Europe is crucial to the industry’s success in decarbonization, as collaboration will play a central role in developing ‘Better Ways’ of transporting our customers’ goods.”
