Foton Launches “IECO” Brand: A New Era for Smart CV Ecosystem
On December 4, 2024, Foton Motor unveiled its new brand “IECO” during the Marketing Strategy and Product Launch event held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. The brand reflects Foton’s 22 years of innovation in new energy and marks the company’s transition into a new stage of building a comprehensive smart ecosystem. Over 2,000 dealers, partners, and media representatives attended to witness this milestone.
What is “IECO”?
Gong Haidong, Vice President of Foton Motor, introduced the concept and strategy behind “IECO.” He explained that the name comes from the phonetic transliteration of “IECO,” symbolizing “intelligence” and “ecology.” The logo, inspired by a four-leaf clover, represents luck, hope, and value.

The brand aims to drive sustainable development in the commercial vehicle industry by integrating smart technology with an ecological approach to create an all-encompassing smart ecosystem.
Two Core Business Areas
“Smart Ecosystem” focuses on energy services, digital leasing, vehicle connectivity, big data, and used vehicle operations to provide comprehensive vehicle solutions for customers.
“Electric Powertrain” prioritizes user needs, advancing battery, control systems, and electric drive technologies. At the forefront of commercial vehicle innovation, IECO introduces three groundbreaking technologies—IECO Control, IECO Drive, and IECO Battery—to set a new standard for smart logistics.
IECO Control: Smarter Vehicle Management
With fully self-developed software, IECO Control is tailored for commercial vehicle operations. It integrates domain control with zonal architecture to enhance vehicle performance and efficiency, paving the way for the next generation of intelligent logistics solutions.
IECO Drive: Efficient and Reliable Power
IECO Drive focuses on energy efficiency and reliability, delivering high-performance electric drive systems for commercial vehicles. By optimizing energy consumption and ensuring smooth, efficient power transmission, it perfectly meets the demands of logistics operations. This makes it a benchmark for high-performance commercial vehicle drive technology.
IECO Battery: All-Climate Capability and Safety
The IECO Battery offers low resistance, fast energy transfer, and full operational capability in extreme temperatures ranging from -35°C to 50°C. It boasts excellent durability and includes a four-layer flame-retardant system that exceeds industry standards. With an intelligent safety monitoring platform, it ensures secure and reliable use. Its energy capacity, ranging from 40 kWh to 800 kWh, supports a wide range of driving distances, making it ideal for diverse logistics scenarios.
By combining cutting-edge technology with practical application, IECO is leading the way toward smarter, greener, and safer logistics solutions.

According to Qin Zhidong, Deputy General Manager of Foton’s New Energy Division, “IECO” implements an innovative “0+1+3+4+N” model, forming a competitive closed-loop ecosystem from research to product development. By optimizing energy efficiency, enhancing all-weather battery adaptability, and advancing intelligent control and efficient electric drive technologies, “IECO” is setting new industry standards.
Foton’s Vision for the Future
The launch of “IECO” not only highlights Foton’s two decades of expertise but also represents a major step toward smart and green commercial vehicles. Looking ahead, Foton plans to collaborate with global partners under the “IECO” brand to build an open, sustainable, and shared smart ecosystem for the future.
