Dongfeng Expands Overseas with Dongfeng Cummins Engines
As Chinese automotive brands expand internationally, Southeast Asia has become an important market. Dongfeng Motor, a pioneer in China’s overseas expansion, held a major brand event, "DONGFENG DAY," in Jakarta, Indonesia, on February 20, 2025.

The event brought together over 100 representatives from dealerships, partners, and the media from Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and other Southeast Asian countries to celebrate Dongfeng's success in the region. The attendees learned about Dongfeng’s latest models, including the DONGFENG GX, DONGFENG KC PRO, and DONGFENG KC PLUS, all of which are powered by Dongfeng Cummins engines. This event strengthened Dongfeng’s relationships with global partners and deepened cooperation in international markets.

At the event, Dongfeng Cummins showcased its ISD6.7 and Z14 engines, both of which attracted significant attention from overseas dealers due to their outstanding performance. The ISD6.7 engine delivers up to 300 horsepower and a peak torque of 1100 Nm. It has become popular among international users thanks to its high power output, long overhaul intervals, and low operating costs. Dongfeng vehicles with the ISD6.7 engine will soon be available in Southeast Asia, offering more reliable transport solutions to customers.

The Z14 engine, designed specifically for long-haul logistics, uses Cummins’ global expertise and a range of technological innovations to improve operational performance. It delivers high torque at low speeds, making climbing and acceleration easier. Additionally, the Z14 engine features a lightweight design and integrates five fuel-saving technologies, reducing fuel consumption and helping customers save costs. Paired with the Yindong AMT transmission, this integrated powertrain increases reliability by 30%, making it well-suited for various complex environments. The new Dongfeng GX model, equipped with the Z14 engine, will soon be launched in Southeast Asia, offering an efficient logistics experience to customers.

As one of China’s leading engine brands, Dongfeng Cummins continues to support Dongfeng in its international expansion, helping to increase the company’s brand influence and competitiveness. To date, Dongfeng vehicles equipped with Dongfeng Cummins engines have been successfully launched in Southeast Asia, providing a variety of product options for different regional markets. Looking ahead, Dongfeng Cummins will continue to work with partners to explore mutually beneficial global markets.
