FOTON Auman Battery-Swap Electric Trucks: Greener Solutions for Port Logistics
As ports around the world face increasing pressure to reduce emissions, cut costs, and improve efficiency, upgrading transport fleets has become a top priority—especially for short-haul, high-frequency operations between terminals and inland areas.
FOTON Auman, a leader in the heavy-duty truck industry, has developed a new energy solution tailored for port scenarios: the Auman Battery-Swap Electric Truck. Recently deployed in batches at Yantian Port, this truck offers fast battery swapping, powerful performance, and driver-friendly features.
5-Minute Battery Swaps: Keep Operations Moving
Port transport requires constant trips and quick turnarounds. The Auman battery-swap truck uses a bottom-mounted CATL system with a 342kWh battery pack, enabling all-day operation without charging delays. Each battery swap takes just 5 minutes—minimizing downtime and keeping fleets moving.

Built for reliability, the swap system lasts over 10,000 cycles and operates smoothly in extreme conditions—from -30°C to 50°C, and at altitudes up to 2,000 meters. Operators can choose 1 to 3 battery packs based on their needs, offering a flexible and cost-effective power setup.
Strong Electric Drivetrain for Heavy Loads
Designed specifically for port logistics, the truck features a single electric motor paired with a three-speed integrated e-axle. This setup improves reliability and reduces maintenance. With a peak motor efficiency of 97.09%, the truck delivers stable power even when fully loaded or climbing ramps.
Its compact, oil-cooled motor ensures excellent heat dissipation—ideal for hot, humid port environments—so performance stays consistent all day.
To meet the demanding nature of port work, the Auman truck uses smart energy strategies. Regenerative braking reduces energy waste in stop-and-go traffic. Acceleration is tuned for low-speed efficiency, while E-mode throttle settings help cut power use during frequent starts.
The truck’s wiring harness uses triple-layer protection and meets IP68 waterproof standards, with connectors rated at IP69K. This ensures reliable operation even in coastal environments with high humidity and salt exposure.

Custom-Built for Ports: More Comfort, More Reliability
Port work runs 24/7—so driver comfort matters. The Auman truck offers port-optimized tires with deep treads, wide surfaces, and high-durability materials, improving grip and reducing downtime and tire costs.
Inside the cab, drivers get a modern, functional setup: a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, electronic parking brake, rotary gear knob, and flat-floor layout all improve ease of use and comfort during shifts or breaks.
FOTON Auman’s battery-swap electric truck combines advanced technology with practical design to deliver a cleaner, more efficient port logistics solution. By reducing emissions, cutting costs, and improving daily operations, it supports the global shift toward sustainable, low-carbon transport—and helps shape the future of smart, green ports.
