Foton Showcases Full Range of Commercial Vehicles at South Africa’s NAMPO Show
BOTHAVILLE, South Africa May 22, 2025 [chinatrucks.org] — Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer Foton Motor made its debut at the NAMPO Harvest Day in South Africa from May 13 to 16, presenting a full lineup of trucks and vans tailored to local transportation needs.

The exhibition marked Foton’s first appearance at NAMPO, one of Africa’s largest events focused on agriculture and commercial vehicles. Under the theme “All-Scenario Logistics Solutions,” Foton introduced a wide selection of products, ranging from heavy-duty trucks for mining and long-haul transport to compact delivery vehicles for urban use.

Foton’s display included:
Heavy-duty trucks with locally adjusted powertrains for mining and long-distance operations.
Medium and light trucks designed for reliability and high payload capacity in mid- and short-range logistics.
Mini trucks and microvans for last-mile delivery in urban settings.
Pickup trucks suitable for both commercial and private use, including agriculture and construction.
Passenger and cargo vans.

New energy vehicles, showcased for the first time in the South African market, offering low-emission options for green transport.
Company representatives said the lineup aims to address the diverse demands of South Africa’s logistics sector. A visitor to the booth described Foton’s vehicles as “performing better than others, even in the toughest conditions,” underscoring customer interest in durability and performance.

Foton’s participation at NAMPO is part of its broader effort to expand in international markets under China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The company has emphasized localized service, after-sales support, and tailored product offerings to improve competitiveness and customer engagement.

In South Africa, Foton has seen gradual market growth, which company officials attribute to increased brand recognition and consistent service. During the four-day event, Foton hosted vehicle demonstrations, test drives, and consultations to introduce its products to potential buyers and partners.
Foton said it plans to continue investing in technological innovation and sustainable solutions to meet the evolving needs of global transportation markets.
